Jay Forman became very ill earlier this month and tested positive for the coronavirus. He went to the hospital on March 16th with a fever and a cough. The doctor gave him Motrim and a cough medicine and sent him home. After he went home he got progressively worse.
By last Friday Jay was in bad shape and had to go back to the hospital. He had a 102 degree temperature was coughing and couldn’t speak and couldn’t breathe.
Then the doctors gave him hydroxychloroquine on Saturday morning and a Z-Pak. Four days later his fever broke and he has no symptoms. He was released from the hospital on Thursday morning.
Laura Ingraham: Before you got the hydroxychloroquine you felt you were going in a really bad direction?
Jay Forman: Absolutely. I think the hydroxychoroquine and the Z-Pak definitely saved my life.
Laura Ingraham: And what do you think of governors who are saying doctors cannot prescribe it in off-label use if it’s not part of a controlled study…?
Jay Forman: They have to do what they have to do to save people’s lives! I’m laying in the bed in the hospital and I’m watching President Trump saying this can possibly can work. And I’m living proof! I’m on the TV now with you!
This was SOOO powerful!

If it is the article that I think it is - it was purported to be an email from an MD working in New Orleans, and it included a lot of technical lingo (to enhance his credentials, I suppose). Sounded pretty grim - but also seemed pretty sketchy to me (no names named).
I.e., it sounded like a bit of fiction. I'm sure that anyone who harbors a grudge against America (enemies domestic or foreign) is having a field day fueling panic -- and our Media will just lap it up. Although to be fair, as far as I know, this particular 'article' was just an anonymous email making the rounds (so I shouldn't tar the Media regarding this particular report).
The number of occasions I changed doctors practices by being more informed, is many. It comes down to reading studies and their continuing education credit materials (that they dont read).
They dont have the time to know everything, so get up to speed before going in.
Just last week, I changed a long standing practice at a local hospital with their many years of not warming to body temperature their strongest CT contrast iodine. Its been a bad practice to not warm for at least four years (the high viscosity unwarmed creates many internal tears that cause bleeding and allergy-like responses). I showed them their own educational updates and they said they would change their practices.
Doctors cant know everything. Learn the most recent recommendations and studies that affect what you are going in to get and be armed.
My wife needed to go on blood pressure meds. The standard is a cheap ACE-I that is quite old. The best ARB as a generic has at least three major benefits over that ACE-I. I requested that for my wife and the doctor complied, but asked why. I told her that three common side effects are not a problem with telmisartan and telmisartan has better efficacy and longer time in the body than other ARBs. Since both her choice and mine were genericswhy choose the old drug? She concurred and asked me if I was in the medical fieldIm not.
I now always refuse the flu typing when having flu symptoms. Doctors are on autopilot and always seek to shove a tampon up your nose to type the flu, but it does nothing for anyone but the CDC, while costing you $175. You see, you get the same Tamiflu for either Type A or B flue strains. So stand up to your doctor and tell him you will get typed if he or the CDC pays for it. Otherwise, its not happening. Do I, or do I not, have obvious flu symptoms? Think about my 102.5 fever and the speed it came to be, along with everything else (this was before COVID this year). He will admit what you say is true and wont type you and will give you the Tamiflu.
There are many other occasions I could name, if you were curious.
Dont blindly trust any doctor.
Doesn’t the typical flu last 4 or 5 days?
I haven’t had one since I was a teenager forty some years ago, so I may be remembering incorrectly.
My best friend is an MD in anesthesiology and he literally laughed at me at the thought of patients sharing a ventilator.
No offense to doctors, but I was always surprised that he passed any MD test, and I’ve known him since I was 5. He’s the most kind and compassionate person I’ve ever met but he’s not that smart. He has always been a follower and he’s panicked at the current situation.
I spent two days on a ventilator in 2014. After the fact I researched the issue and found that, at the time, only 40% of people put on ventilators left the hospital alive.
There was also a lot of information about VAP, Ventilator Associated Pneumonia. Evidently there is a lot of care required to administer properly to a ventilated patient and many ways that the process can go wrong. Solving these problems improved the survival rate for such patients dramatically. Unfortunately, I believe that the 40% rate was post-improvements.
The study on VAP also revealed a great disparity in outcomes from one hospital to another.
If the number is 86%, then that dramatically reduces the value of additional ventilators and means that the virus will kill you independent of whether there is a ventilator for you or not.
anecdotal?

Lets brand this THE TRUMP CURE.
Same here, but I was not able to return to work for 2 weeks.
We’ll know more after this weekend.
Silly. This is an advertisement.

No, its a physicians report of his protocol and the results of that protocol.
To convince his patients he is a great doctor. If its 100% this will all be over tomorrow. Give it a couple days. My take is this is happy talk. Notice neither Brix nor Fauci even said a damn word about it. If it was a miracle cure dont you think they might have. I know you guys want to be reassured but dont be reassured by happy talk. The guy in New Orleans said no patient at their hospital who was intubated survived yet.
You dont have to be smart you just have to be willing to work your ass off. 100+ hour weeks for years before you can finally move out of an apartment and buy an actual car.
This was the first negative report I have seen and is disheartening.
*******U*****************************
Dude, youre entirely too easily disheartened. Be smart and dont place too much credence in ANONYMOUS POSTINGS on the internet. Seriously.
We discovered in the ICUs back in the 80s that we had RTs coming into the ICUs form the floors and spreading nosocomial infections in the ICU when they changed tubing and stuff. We changed protocol so the ICU RTs were dedicated to t he ICUs and our rate of nosocomial infections plummeted.
Its an ad and in my day this guy would have lost his license for this.
...I know you guys want to be reassured but dont be reassured by happy talk. The guy in New Orleans said no patient at their hospital who was intubated survived yet....

Well, Ill take happy talk, about their actual experience, from real people who actually reveal their true identities versus the unsubstantiated postings from ANONYMOUS posters on the internet who likely have some strange agenda.
Speaking of strange agendas, why are you personally on your jihad against the hydroxychloroquine/azithromycin treatment protocol?
“don’t blindly trust any doctor”
Hear! Hear!
ConservativeMind, you nailed this one...
I want to know how many who were chronically on Plaquenil are among the some 2,000 dead. If the answer is NONE, I say go ahead, full steam. The fact we arent being told this critical information is because the answer is not Zero which tells me right there the drugs are not 100%. Again, who gets the drugs and when? The seriously ill when they get to the ICU? Unless what we are talking about here is like the New Orleans guy said, they had no survivors once intubated, so far. So if the drugs are highly effective and allow, lets say 10% or 50% to survive we will now that today. Sounds like that experiment is underway in NYC. So, yes, it will be a great thing if Plaquenil saves people because everyone without it dies. I dont think that will be the case. It may save some but if the people who get it are on deaths door it may be too late. Which is why I want so desperately to know what our experience with this drug is right now. We have the info. Its right there.
Reddit is Chinese owned propaganda
Well, I can see youre a well let them die until we know for sure type of guy.
