Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-Calif) is proposing to solve the homeless problem in his state by authorizing doctors to prescribe housing. "Having a comfortable and safe place to live is just as important to a person's health as insulin or antibiotics," he asserted. "Armed with a prescription from a doctor, a homeless person could then draw upon Medicaid resources to either buy a home or pay rent."
Newsom called his idea "pure genius. Right now, there is no legal mandate for guaranteeing housing for the homeless. Ten million Californians, one in four, suffer from some type of behavioral health condition. This includes virtually all of the homeless. By authorizing doctors to prescribe housing for these unfortunates, we turn it into a human right. This will sweep aside all legitimate objections to spending whatever it takes to see that everyone has a home by simply saying 'doctors' orders' to all those who oppose this desperately needed action."
In other California news, Assembly members Lorena Gonzalez (DSan Diego) and Christina Garcia (DBell Gardens) introduced a bill that would require adult entertainers to obtain a business license and complete a state-mandated training course before being allowed to ply their trade. Gonzalez explained that "pornography is the fastest growing form of entertainment in America. It is time for the government to step in to ensure that the quality of this entertainment doesn't get diluted by poorly trained performers. The regulations implemented by our bill will prevent this from happening."

Satire to us but the left probably thinks this is another great idea. Just raise the property taxes on current homeowners who already pay way too much in CA.
Forget about it. You were well enough off to come up with a downpayment and pass a credit check. You don't need a paid off mortgage; society needs you to pay higher taxes to support the homeless, and other societal goods.
Evil rich jerk. /S, shouldn't be necessary

Jerk, yes. Evil, maybe. Rich, not no mo’. Just suffering through another 8 years of PDJT should finish me off though. NOT! But 4 more years may finish off a lot of acquaintances. LOL!
“Ten million Californians, one in four, suffer from some type of behavioral health condition.”
A helluva lot more than that Nuisance...including you!
We are all out of cali with all of our assets soon.
No asshole gov, I will not pay for others housing just because they are too damn lazy to work and know that people like you are willing to spend my money to take care of them.
Transplant each and every homeless person into the living room of a democrat who supports your crap.
That would be both just and ironic as hell.
KMA as I leave and take all of our assets with us.
Sane people, and more and more of them every month, are done with your high tax thievery.
Newsome’s “Prescriptions for Houses” ..........
OMG, a-n-o-t-h-e-r stale decrepit “Progressive” idea.....from the horse and buggy days.
So much for “Progress”......Bernie is stuck on stupid......he thinks the telephone company is still AT&T.
REALITY CHECK There are literally 1,500 telephone companies serving our nation...... and thats not counting the copious number of data center providers, metro cable providers, and networks built within networks. The pre-1984 ATT broke up into Regional Bells, such as Pac Bell, Bell South, Bell Atlantic, etc. And since then, we’ve seen the rise of Verizon, T-Mobile USA, etc.
Bernie hasnt the foggiest idea how this web of companies cooperate together to deliver the best networks of any nation with high speed internet and WiFi access almost everywhere. (hat tip poconopundit)
We need to have an entrance exam for Presidential candidates ....and for all public offices.
How about allowing doctors to write a prescription for a new state governor.
