Posted on 12/03/2019 7:33:32 AM PST by Jack Black
The moment that Hillary Clintons reference to those disinclined to vote for her as deplorables and irredeemables made this unmistakable, Donald Trumps victory became possible.
The people who voted for Trump, many despite reservations about him, did so seeking a shield against insult and injury from above. But the 2016 results confirmed the ruling class in its judgment, and emboldened it to act in resistance and in ways no one had ever imagined.
Ordinary Americans in voting for Trump got a loud voice on their behalf, but no shield. Between 2016 and 2020, we have been pressed as never before to bow to the ruling classs ever-escalating demands for conformity to its whimssuch as to pretend that we join them in accepting that men can be women, and women can be men, on pain of dire social and economic consequences.
Not even the monsters depicted in Darkness At Noon, in Nineteen Eighty-Four or in Animal Farm, never mind Stalins Soviet Union or Maos China, or Hitlers Germany, ever demanded such subrational submission.
Superficially, the ruling classs resistance since 2016 has focused on Trump. Our temptation to focus on fights regarding Trump has obscured the fact that their objection is to us. The instant after the 2020 elections, whatever happens, there will be no excuse for not paying due attention to the real question: What will become of us? What can we, what must we, do for ourselves?
Dreadful Prospects, Regardless of the Outcome Were Donald Trump to be reelected in 2020, as is likely, there is no reason to think his second administration would loosen the ruling classs tightening grip on our lives any more than the first did. Were any Democrat to win, we can be certain that the demands on us would escalate, and the governments choke hold on education, speech, religion, medicine, law, and all manner of administration would tighten further.
In either case, after the 2020 elections ordinary Americans will have to deal with the same dreadful question we faced in 2016: How do we secure and perhaps restore our fast-diminishing freedom to live as Americans? And while we may wish for help from Trump, we have to look to ourselves and to other leaders for how we may counter the ruling classs manifold assaults now, and especially in the long term.
Since 2016, the ruling class has left no doubt that it is not merely enacting chosen policies: It is expressing its identity, an identity that has grown and solidified over more than a half century, and that it is not capable of changing.
That really does mean that restoring anything like the Founders United States of America is out of the question. Constitutional conservatism on behalf of a country a large part of which is absorbed in revolutionary identity; that rejects the dictionary definition of words; that rejects common citizenship, is impossible. Not even winning a bloody civil war against the ruling class could accomplish such a thing.
Going Our Separate Ways The logical recourse is to conserve what can be conserved, and for it to be done by, of, and for those who wish to conserve it. However much force of what kind may be required to accomplish that, the objective has to be conservation of the people and ways that wish to be conserved.
That means some kind of separation.
As I argued in The Cold Civil War, the natural, least stressful course of events is for all sides to tolerate the others going their own ways. The ruling class has not been shy about using the powers of the state and local governments it controls to do things at variance with national policy, effectively nullifying national laws. And they get away with it.
For example, the Trump Administration has not sent federal troops to enforce national marijuana laws in Colorado and California, nor has it punished persons and governments who have defied national laws on immigration. There is no reason why the conservative states, counties, and localities should not enforce their own view of the good.
Not even President Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez would order troops to shoot to re-open abortion clinics were Missouri or North Dakota, or any city, to shut them down. As Francis Buckley argues in American Secession: The Looming Breakup of the United States, some kind of separation is inevitable, and the options regarding it are many.
Who Will Lead? And Lead Where? One year hence, the practical political problem for we deplorables has to do with leadership, looking toward 2024. The chances that appreciable numbers of us might follow anyone like Mitt Romney are negligible. What sort of person, with what sort of attitude, with what sort of priorities shall we seek?
Since what the ruling class does is driven by its identity, whoever would lead us deplorables must leave no doubt that his own, at the very least, is in opposition to theirs. In other words, he has no desire to join the ruling class, or to be liked by them, that he understands the harm the ruling class has done to America, and that he is on the side of those who wish to save and repair what is possible to save and repair.
That means a combative attitude. Donald Trump has been all too combativein generalities. But we are looking for leadership in many fields of socio-political combat. Specific leadership requires attitudes regarding specific problems, such as education and infrastructure. Whoever would be followed will have to explain at what he (or she?) is angry, why, and what kind of action he encourages.
To lead is to show the way, to explain what is to be done and how its to be done, and to do it passionately.
Since whoever claims to care about everything cares about nothing, we will take seriously only persons who have cared enough about causes to expose themselves to slings and arrows on their behalfas Charles de Gaulle put it, to pay with their own coin.
In 2016 and since, we have learned that our ruling class has amassed the power and developed the taste to revel in making us miserable. We have also learned that to avoid this, we must undo or separate ourselves from them, their structures, and priorities. Knowing that they regard us as illegitimate, we have no choice but to return the favor. Living as we do in revolutionary times, weand whoever would lead usmust act accordingly.
What is the continuing reason for slighting American Greatness like this?
Unlike a lot of so-called "Conservative" opinion journals like the National Review and the Weekly Standard, they were *NEVER* part of the anti-Trump coalition.
Even their name evokes Trump and MAGA, so what's the problem?
Their writers include both Angelo Codevilla and Victor Davis Hansen, two or the greatest thinkers our side has.
What is the reason for continuing to treat this site like it's someone's blog?
Civil War II Ping List Ping!
If re-elected, I’m waiting on the dems/socialists/commies not to show up in congress. An a declaration of separation from California, south Florida, new jersey, and NYC.
America has only 2 options.
Remove foreigners or die.
Remove foreigners or die.
That is a fact.
But even here on FreeRepublic we have people arguing against that and even arguing that Anwar Al-Awlaki’s kids, born in Yemen to one citizen parent, are natural born citizens eligible to be President.
If Ted is, they are.
“The moment that Hillary Clintons reference to those disinclined to vote for her as deplorables and irredeemables made this unmistakable, Donald Trumps victory became possible.”
His victory was inevitable from the moment he threw his hat in the ring.
The leftwads thought they had committed enough fraud to steal the election, and were appalled to discover that Trump’s support was greater than they had thought.
There will be no upper limit on the crimes they will commit in their efforts to steal the 2020 election.
When President Trump is reelected, they will do things we haven’t thought of. They’ll go berserk.
“Not even the monsters depicted in Darkness At Noon, in Nineteen Eighty-Four or in Animal Farm, never mind Stalins Soviet Union or Maos China, or Hitlers Germany, ever demanded such subrational submission. “
That pretty much nails it.
NEVER submit to the “political ruling class!”
And here is some pretty strong supporting analysis:
“The Quintessential Liberal Fascist:”
The Great Separation has already begun in earnest. Americans have self-segregated, not only along racial lines, but ideological ones as well. We no longer willingly fraternize with members of the opposition. We no longer value them as friends or allies. Indeed, most of us look for “tells” upon meeting a stranger and measure continued interaction based on the “algorithms”.
We are a Balkanized society and no longer trust or tolerate one another, nor give the benefit of the doubt.
“Are ye with us or agin us?”
It’s not gonna work unless we build walls and checkpoints. We are already getting refugees from the socialist paradise of California in my state.
Sadly I do not think 2020 and beyond will be a cold civil war, but an era of violence. Assuming Trump is re-elected in 2020, the Democrat-Socialist party will be in shambles. They have tried a coup from within the FBI, the Mueller investigation and now an impeachment to remove Trump and roll back the 2016 election and have failed. The only avenue now available to oust Trump is a Bolshevik style revolution. Trumps reelection will spark violent protests and Antifa mobs will run rampant burning and looting businesses, beating anyone thought to be a Trump supporter and intimidating prominent conservatives. Likely things will escalate with acts of terrorism, bombings and political assassinations. I could see foreign actors like a ISIS, Iran and other leftist groups become part of the chaos. Trump will not hesitate to declare martial law and bring in US troops to quell the violence. Thedeplorables will defend themselves and their homes. I see tough times ahead.
That's all over now. Does anyone think we can ever see a conservative leader again in California?
Oregon had a Republican Senator up until 2009, when Gordon Smith lost a challenge. Think about that! People today make fun of Oregon, it's considered to be the Bluest of Blue States, but only a decade ago it had a GOP Senator. And before him Mark Hatfield, another Republican was in the Senate from Oregon for 30 years, so Smith wasn't a fluke, he was the culmination of 40 years or Oregonians electing Republicans to the Senate. From 1969 to 1995 the *other* Senate seat was held by Bob Packwood, also a Republican.
Does anyone think that a Republican can win a State wide race in Oregon anymore? Much less hold both Senate seats for 20 years?
Oregon turned Blue because of massive immigration.
Washington State has had a very similar trajectory.
Slade Gordon was the last Republican senator from Washington, leaving office in 2001. In the 1980s Washington also had two Republican US Senators: Daniel J Evans and Slade Gordon. Since 2000 the Democrats have had a complete lock on both Senate seats in Washington. Like Oregon, demographics has transformed the State, and turned it blue.
In thinking about secession the State by State model fails for many people who have seen their states invaded, infected and diseased by the importation of leftist parasites. It might be OK for hard-Tard states like New Jersey or Massachusetts to become part of the United Socialist States of America in the near future, but States like Oregon and Washington (and even California) are unlikely to see the vast minority of natives, only recently displaced by Leftist invaders (both foreign and domestic) from political power agree to them leaving as Leftist states.
To avoid violent conflict (if that is even possible) these States will need be be broken up into smaller polities.
I maintain that USINO (United States In Name Only) is ungovernable. It simply has become too large and too rich to run effectively. Peaceful or otherwise, separation will come. We cannot continue on this path.
Yes, the majority of the people pay little heed to what they do in Versailles on the Potomac. They are too busy living their lives, working their jobs and caring for their families.
What passes for government is no longer answerable for anything. The Fake Congress more resembles a school yard fight than grownups doing what’s best for their constituents. The Deep State controls everything and only total destruction will change that.
Lock and load.
Whether he is reelected or not, the Left will go berserk.
Either in celebration, or with blind irrational rage.
Plain and simple you cannot blame blue states on immigration
There are overwhelming numbers of white educated liberals here in California
The staple democratic lies that Have been told for generations are very hard to overcome
Republicans are for the rich Democrats are for the poor
Republicans are for the big guy and corporations Democrats are for the little guy struggling against the corporations
Republicans won dirty air and water and dont care about the environment Democrats want to save and preserve Mother Earth
Republicans want to keep all the money for themselves we Democrats want to give everything away to you
See my point?
Excellent graphic describing the real agenda of the community organizer president of dirty name. Now we must take apart the deep state criminal network seeking to carry his agenda forward. That criminal enterprise invests all of our executive ranch and the military.
Kudos to President Trump, who will go down in our history as one of our greatest, saving our grateful nation from these Saul Alinsky based liberal fascists and their “transformational” agenda.
Never will we surrender to THEM! Look past heir supposedly “soft” public image to the evil of their policies!
America has awakened for a President Trump landslide in Nov. 2020. We deplorables are on the move.
Lets KEEP winning!
It all has to do with who winds in 2024. Pence is too nice and the knives will be sharpened for him. Don Jr? Don’t think so.
It all has to do with who winds in 2024.....Swallwell?
