That rear admiral needs to walk the plank.
For once, I would REALLY, REALLY like to see these dweebs get in trouble. Prison works.
Thank you, President Trump, for the pardon.
“This is astonishing the Navy is still trying to punish Gallagher despite Trump’ pardon.”
8 years of Obama replacing everyone he could has residual effects.
They can and should put him in SEAL training, perhaps even teaching a military law course or an international law course. That would be a good use of his experience (I had a comparable though somewhat different case for an instructor in my training pipeline). There is no point in being vindictive at this point, and his students could get more out of the course than they would with someone who had not been railroaded in the same manner. Believe me, you pay more attention to the points made by your instructor if he went to Leavenworth over those issues.
Just a side point. Comments on Twitter do not orders make.
Please name me ONE other person who, as President of the United States, would be so decisive and handle this the way Trump just did! ‘Get back to business.
Perfect!
We have ourselves a great guy in the oval office!
There was a day when top brass at the military would get sacked if they did something like these assholes are doing.
Remember that Gerogie Patton got his pee pee slapped for out of hand comments. The only thing that saved Georgie was that he was one hell of a fighting general and the Germans were scared to hell of him.
Does anyone else recall that post?
You can bet all those slots were filled with obama commies. This 'coup' started in 2008 and is ongoing. Trump came in like a bull in a china shop and upset the process.
MacArthur deja vue
Insubordination cannot and must not be tolerated. The penalties are and must be severe.
Bttt.

HuH? That's not a valid order. Still if the admiral is smart, he will buy a vowel and get a clue.
Good on Trump for not only sticking up for Gallagher, but also slapping down the bureaucracy and the lawyers in the Navy (and, indirectly, all of those in the entire military). The business of the armed forces is to advance the interests of this country, as ordered by the national command authority (i.e. the President), by being ready, willing and able to break lots of things and kill lots of people, and to thus deter our potential enemies and, if such deterrence (and other diplomacy) fails, then to actually break lots of things and kill lots of people on the enemy’s side so that we are victorious. All of this pencil-pushing and legalism are a bunch of crap (and I am a lawyer - but I know that lawyers should damned well NOT be controlling society, and should most certainly not be telling the POTUS what to do).
Oh, and thank you Chief Gallagher for not only serving your country in a very courageous manner in possibly the most challenging of circumstances, but also for putting up with all of this BS from the REMFs in the Navy.
so many operatives...
Reduce Rear Adm Greens Rank.
Take back his Trident.
Then relieve him of command.
After Kelly, McMaster, and Mattis I have lost a lot of respect for high level Pentagon brass. If one of them was a bad actor operating in bad faith, okay. All three? That's a pattern.
An order via Twitter is meaningless. An order via the Chief of Naval Operations is what’s called for.
HOORAY Chief.
Navy will ignore the tweet. It’s not an official channel.
Wonderful response from the Commander in Chief: Get back to work! This retired Army officer thinks the President could use this situation as a learning tool for the entire military by firing the Admiral or Secretary of the Navy responsible for this insubordination. Someone should be the example.
