They can and should put him in SEAL training, perhaps even teaching a military law course or an international law course. That would be a good use of his experience (I had a comparable though somewhat different case for an instructor in my training pipeline). There is no point in being vindictive at this point, and his students could get more out of the course than they would with someone who had not been railroaded in the same manner. Believe me, you pay more attention to the points made by your instructor if he went to Leavenworth over those issues.

With respect, a guy like this should not be teaching young minds about military or any other kind of law. He should be used as a negative example by some other instructor who actually understands not just the immediate law, but the bigger picture of everyone in the Executive Branch being subordinate to the duly-elected POTUS, because THAT serves the best interests of the people of this country.
