It appears the good Lt Col had a habit of being in the wrong place at the right time. The purple heart is not exactly the same as a Silver Star. Reminds me of a comment someone made during Gulf II... “don’t you love it when Generals are talking about infantry squad tactics and Lt Col’s are discussing foreign policy?” If I remember right it was a slap at one of the Lt Col (retired) commentators on Fox News at the time.

This oddball Alexander Vindman is basically trying to tell the world that our President and some of his people somehow removed some of the wording from the transcript of the telephone call ...... thus creating evil spaces that may hide guilt.

It's becoming clear that Schifft, Vindman, and the rest of the IMPEACHMENT GHOULS must be looking for ....

Mr. Vindman served his country admirably, rising to the rank of Lt. Colonel and earning a Purple Heart while serving in the Iraq War.

Not to disparage holders of the Purple Heart medals, but you really do not “earn” a Purple Heart. A Purple Heart is a recognition that one was wounded while doing one’s duty. One gets it by misfortune, by being in the wrong place at the wrong time. One receives other medals for their efforts. . . for example medals for valor are awarded by doing something heroic, something extraordinary that is above and beyond the call of duty. Those are earned. The only way one could be said to have earned a Purple Heart is because they did join the military voluntarily, and were by doing that, put into a position to be eventually wounded. Vindman was wounded by merely being present in a vehicle when it struck an Improvised Explosive Device, an IED, as it was being driven down a road. He was merely doing his duty riding in that vehicle, nothing more than every other military passenger in that vehicle who was also injured.

I am a bit tired of hearing how LtCol. Vindman is a “decorated” military man that justifies not challenging what he says about President Trump’s phone call, when the only decoration they mention is this Purple Heart.
