...Democrat Objective? Absulote Power.
American Thinker ^ | 10/19/2019 | Patricia McCarthy

[LINK]: : “Absolute power does not corrupt absolutely, absolute power attracts the corruptible.” --Frank Herbert

The American left is used to being in power, even when they are not. This is true because Republicans have generally embraced the role of being the minority, even when they are not. Republicans tend to be deferential; they don't like to ruffle anyone's feathers. They have never sought absolute power. That power-seeking trait is certainly evident now as the Democrats let Adam Schiff and Nancy Pelosi behave like the KGB in the old Soviet Union in their quest to see President Trump impeached and removed from office. The Democrats selectively leak, the Republicans don't. The Democrats lie, cheat, project the guilt for their crimes onto Republicans, fabricate tall tales, all in service of their determination to see Trump removed from office before he can be re-elected. These people no longer mean to live by the laws of the land, let alone any moral guidelines that have long undergirded our system of laws laid down by our Constitution. “Ethics and oversight are what you eliminate when you want absolute power." (DaShanne Stokes) The current crop of Democrats in the House are lethal to our democratic republic. They intend to reverse the results of the 2016 election by stealth....

I’ve never understood the goals of the Left. The young voters simply are following the crowd and cool kids, so I understand their votes.

The powers that be in the Democrat party have steered this country towards a tyrannical dictatorship for the last 50 years.

Which is why they continue to push to abolish the Electoral College. The 7 or 8 most populous Democratic states would then control the country.

It is way past time for the Democrats to start suffering casualties. Adam Schiff needs to be raided in the middle of the night and taken away as an anti-American coup plotter. If we cannot use the existing law to reign in the lawless, there will soon come a day when American patriots will have to form new law to take these domestic enemies away.

Democrats failed to impeach Trump and remove him from office using the Trump/Russia collusion farce.

They were not about to give up.

So, they continued looking for something to get him on. Thus, the Ukraine phone call quid-pro-quo farce was created.

The Ukraine farce is not going anywhere, but, democrats know that, it’s their only opportunity left to try to get Trump out. The 2020 elections are around the corner and they know that there is no candidate on the left that can even begin to compete against Trump. Thus, the only way they see that they can win against Trump is by getting him out before he can even run for president again.

Understanding that they cannot go for a third scandal or farce with which to impeach Trump, it’s imperative to them to make this Ukraine ‘scandal’ work. The American people and even most members of congress will see any other efforts as being completely political and with no merits and tiresome. So, democrats cannot afford to let this Ukraine farce end up like the Russian collusion farce. It’s Ukraine or nothing at all.

I disagree. The politicians don't have the power. They are just catspaws for the Progressive Media. The Progressive Media have had the power for 50 years, certainly at least since Watergate.

Let Schiff or Pelosi decide to change policies; oppose the LGBTQ agenda, promote fracking, oil drilling, and coal, promote prayer in school and oppose abortion.

The Progressive Media would have them hounded from office in a month.

Republicans tend to be deferential

**************

No, they are simply weak and unprincipled. And it is this gutless wimpiness which has, and is, enabling Democrat lawlessness. The Republicans never stand up to them so naturally the Dems keep pushing. There are no push backs and no consequences deterring them so they keep getting more extreme.

If I was a Democrat I'd thank my lucky stars everyday for having the feckless GOP as the "opposing" party.

I wish Mark Levin had not been so distracted for or against Trump and instead worked on his convention of states more.

Conservative talk hosts have been failing us.

Do any of his [Schiff's] colleagues in Congress or the media speak up about his catastrophic poor judgment? No, they do not. No ethics anywhere on the left, not anymore.

*************

Sadly there are more than a few in the GOP caucus who also lack any ethics.

These people no longer mean to live by the laws of the land, let alone any moral guidelines that have long undergirded our system of laws laid down by our Constitution.

Snip...The current crop of Democrats in the House are lethal to our democratic republic.

Yet another writer, not reporter, who pays lip service to America and the Constitutional Republic established with the ratification of the Constitution.

What the government is, if it be not a tyranny, which the men of our choice have conferred on our President, and the President of our choice has assented to, & accepted over the friendly strangers, to whom the mild spirit of our country, & it’s laws had pledged hospitality & protection: that the men of our choice have more respected the bare suspicions of the President, than the solid rights of innocence, the claims of justification, the sacred force of truth, & the forms and substance of law & justice: in questions of power then, let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the constitution.
Thomas Jefferson

A democratic republic is confidence in man while a Constitutional Republic binds man down from mischief.

And if that fails, win 2020 by massive vote cheating on a scale that would make the old USSR proud.
