Here is my worst-case impeachment scenario.
A. Adam Schiff's kangaroo inquiry secretly drafts articles of impeachment. Their validity matters not one whit.
B. The articles of impeachment (valid or bogus, it doesn't matter) go to the house floor. It passes easily, with every Democrat and some GOP congressmen voting to send it to the senate for an impeachment trial.
C. Mitch McConnell immediately moves for a full Senate trial. He has already said he would do this, and I think I know why: his family is just as corrupt as the Biden family, and he wants Trump's swamp-draining to end ASAP, before Trump's anti-corruption push eventually moves on to other corrupt senators, including himself.
D. 20+ GOP senators vote to convict Trump, shocking the nation and the world, and leading to his removal from office.
IMHO, some GOP senators will do it to hide their own corruption from further examination. Some will do it because of their personal animosity toward President Trump. Some will do it because they are already under deep state (corrupt FBI/CIA) blackmail control. Some will do it for the favors they will be promised following Trump's removal. Some will do it because they are just plain ornery contrarians.
Here is a list of 18 GOP senators who I think could vote to convict Trump in a full senate impeachment trial. Throw in a few total surprises (blackmail, etc) and the result might just shock the world. They only need 20. Here is my list of 18 (so far) potential GOP votes against Trump. Please let me know if you totally disagree with any of these possible votes to convict Donald Trump, or if you have some more senate GOP names for my list.

But this is an era of surprises. Trump’s election was a surprise.
So would a senate vote to convict.
I’m looking at this from a higher vantage point than politics.
This is the deep state / SES-class in a death-match against the swamp drainer. They will stop and NOTHING.
Mere politicians, including Senators, are just pawns on their board.
Look at what Brennan, Clapper, Comey, McCabe etc tried to pull off: a virtual coup.
And they ain’t done yet.
Who the eff are you, nameless nobody?
Go eff yourself in all your usual places, and find a few new ones.
I’m not forgetting that at all.
Nowhere did I say a senate vote to convict would be “game-set-match-fait-accompli.”
There are factions in this country who want nothing more than to totally dynamite the existing political order.
Out of chaos, power, is their credo.

They will not stop unless they are stopped.
They are the very definition of "combinations too powerful to be suppressed by the ordinary course of judicial proceedings, or by the powers vested in the marshals by law".
I take it as a given that Schiff/Pelosi already have articles of impeachment written up.
On any given day, they can send it to the full house for an up-down vote.

No, you did not. My comment was for a conviction based on the evidence (or lack thereof) so far. If Trump is guilty (highly unlikely) of “High crimes and misdemeanors” then probably no civil disobedience.
I agree, the nation would wind up locked in violence.

The reason I believe that we are headed that way is because we are dealing with people who have allowed their hatred of President Trump and those who voted for and support him to drive them insane. They have lost the capacity to reason. They have lost the ability to form sane rational thoughts and ideas. Their instincts call out for them to kill him and us should they be allowed. I believe that it has passed the point of no return and the only solution is wiping the other out. At the moment our side because our anger has not reached the point theirs is now is all that is holding it back. However our side is rapidly exhausting its patience. Once that happens......

I don’t think Rand Paul and Marco Rubio will do this. But it is certainly within the realm of possibility, given the inevitability of blackmail, that others would take their place in your line-up.
