But those commercial logistics, sustainment and basing contracts for deployed forces are really lucrative. Can't get in the way of those. Oh and the aid and civil reconstruction contracts... and on and on and on.

With so much effort to fix the world, how come it's still so screwed up?

Blackman makes good arguments.

This non-binding, for the camera/MSM, vote was intended to embarrass the president and, as usual, repubs fell for it.

is simply political posturing designed to allow them to go tell their voters that they bravely defied the President

Stop deluding yourself with this off-point analysis. It's about the graft - the skim off the taxpayers dollars being recirculated back to the greater DC metropolitan area. Stop looking for some other principle or explanation. There is none. It's the money folks. It's everyone getting his piece of the taxpayer funded action. Nothing more.

My soon to be former Congressman Jody Hice (GA-10th) voted Present.

Wow, I am so glad he showed up to work yesterday. I sent him a scathing email on how he was elected to be my voice and all I get if a gold star for showing up to work that day.

Jody Hice also LOVES H1-B Visas.

political will, something that is always in short supply among Republican members of congress

More of this nonsense, Mr. Blackman. Stop trying to make it about a difference of principle. There is no principle. It's about the DC gravy train.

This tells me that there are a whole lot of quisling congress critters on the take and collecting lot’s of money in kickbacks and bribes from the Military Industrial Complex.

I want to know which politicians have been lining their pockets by bribes, donations, and fraudulent connections from foreign powers and corporations, especially RINOs

Let’s see how many, both sides, get $$$ from military linked donations .

Therein lies the key to this outrage

The DC business model of “War for Fun and Profit” is something the vampires in Congress do not want to give up. They don’t give a shit for America.

I wonder how the vote would have looked if President Trump ignored Turkeys warning that they were sending 15,000 troops over the border after the Kurds and the 50 to 1000 US troops would have been left there?

The fact that Turkish artillery bracketed US positions as a warning should indicate that they were not concerned with US casualties if they intervened. The chance for the President to have to meet body bags returning if the Turks, or Kurds caught our troops in a misfire or intentional skirmish, plus the fact that the Russians were right on hand in place to take over the US positions should be troubling.

I am sure the hue and cry from these same so called Republican congresscritters would have been long and loud had one life been lost as the CIC ordered troops to stand their ground as a massive force pushed their way.

This vote was intended to indicate what the sentiment about supporting Kurds was but not about supporting deepening involvement in Syria which is how it’s being spun to make appear an anti Trump move.

True. Did they think they were going to get praised by the GOP roots? GOP always siding with the Democrats no matter how vicious they are!
