“But Did It Work, Mommy?”

Image result for actions prove who someone is words just prove who they want to be

Samantha Power, top Obama aide and UN Ambassador, tells a story in her new book, The Education of an Idealist about proudly telling her 7 year old son, Declan, how she had verbally bested her Russian counterpart, Vitaly Churkin, in a confrontation over Russian’s invasion of Ukraine and annexation of Crimea.

“I regaled him with my best lines from earlier in the day,” Power writes of her conversation with her son. “I proudly recounted how Vitaly had seemed to stumble in our back and forth. I told Declan that I had made clear that just because Putin had big weapons did not mean that he could take what belonged to other people…”

Her son, eating a cheeseburger and fries, was interested in results. “Did Putin leave Crimea?” he asked.

Or as the Washington Examiner put it: Top Obama aide describes moment she realized reality was more important than rhetoric: Did it work, Mommy?

My observation: if you are so narcissistic that you need to “regale” your 7 year old child with your moral and verbal (in your native language) superiority, you are one of the people who should NEVER hold a high-level position of power. And maybe you shouldn’t have children.

For those of you unfamiliar with Ms. Power, here’s a short excerpt from Sam, I Am written back in the big butt days of 2011:

Butt let’s talk other qualifications for taking over the second most powerful position in the world:

Graduate of Yale and Harvard, which is almost as good as Columbia and Harvard, or Princeton and Harvard. So that makes her like, what, the 3rd smartest person on earth?

She began her career as a journalist (200 bonus points), wrote a book about genocide (150 points), is anti-Israel (500 points) worked on Big Guy’s campaign (250 points) where she met and married one of Big Guy’s favorite fellow radicals, Cass Sunstein (250 points),

powers sunsteinfashionbmpCass and Sam, a couple of starry eyed communist idealists

and currently works as special assistant to Big Guy’s National Security Council and head of the Office of Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights; aka the office of pro-Palestinian/anti-Israeli affairs.

Men’s Vogue (and they would certainly know) called her a "Harvard brainiac who can boast both a Pulitzer Prize and a mean jump shot.”  Replace “Pulitzer” with “Nobel” and we’ve got ourselves a female Big Guy! Except with a paper trail.

Spoiler alert on The Education of an Idealist: she’s still not, educated that is.

My advice for the U.S. at the time of Russia’s invasion of Crimea was to leave the START treaty. That was the best way to respond without any threat of war but would have been a sign of resolve. Bolton had the same idea as I recall. It took Trump to actually do it. That would have worked mommy.

For all of Power’s high-flown talk about preventing genocide, she and her boss Obozo didn’t do much to stop ISIS from slaughtering people, did they? Talk is cheap, and people like her and the Zero are the cheapest talkers going.

Missy Samantha was also deeply involved (probably the MOST involved) in the GOVERNMENT’S efforts to spy on the Trump campaign. My guess is that she was being directed, at the “what/who” detail level, by Cass Sunstein who served as her cut out.

Russian men are initially taken aback by aggressive, attractive women, but in the end they don’t concede anything. This self absorbed woman , as her own son noted, achieved nothing. John Bolton , backed by an aggressive President , would have gotten the Russian’s attention. Although must admit glad the wimps were in charge and the US did not sacrifice any more human and material treasure trying to establish international borders far from home.

Zero was too busy drawing Red Lines that were promptly ignored.

Crimea has been Russian since the time of Catherine the Great. It is their warm water port on the Black Sea. Kruschev administratively assigned it to the Ukraine. The West then tried to diddle Russia out of that access and voila Putin said, actually, it’s mine.

We need to stop picking battles that we can’t win and where we are actually very much in the wrong. I doubt we could ever have gotten along with the Russians, because of their innate distrust of foreigners, but we shouldn’t needlessly feed that paranoia.

In ignorance of how Power subsequently spins her anecdote, I give her a few points for effective self-deprecation. She nailed the fatal flaw in Obama, his administration, and the post-modern lefty mentality: their mistake that rhetoric beats reality. When insiders admit imperfection, the bubble bursts.

“Russian men are initially taken aback by aggressive, attractive women,”

Ok, so then how does Samantha Power fit into that concept?

We launched a coup in Ukraine. The nuts in DC literally thought Sevastopol was going to become a NATO navy base. There is nothing we could have done that would have convinced Russia to simply accept that outcome any more than we would accept Norfolk getting handed over to China.

They were bound to take control of all of Crimea after the Kiev coup sponsored by the west. And no pulling out of treaties, sanctions, or puffery, or assaholic lectures from a Harvard children of the corn woman would deter them.

Now the disease is that we think the right amount of foot stamping, sanctions, etc will make them leave.

Obama, and his handlers made a gamble to separate Ukraine from Russia and pull Ukraine into NATO. They managed to separate Ukraine from Russia’s orbit, but created an on-going war, and Russian seizure of Crimea.

For a liberal, intentions are always more important than actions.

This is codified into law:

Hillary Clinton didn't intend for Russia, China, India, Albania and only god knows who else to hack highly sensitive classified information from her unauthorized bathroom server.

Therefore no crime, and no reasonable prosecutor would pursue charges...

What a mouthful and absolutely priceless! I wonder if she was used to having her picture taken in her nightgown as pictured here in the thread. Yikes!! Have we seen/heard the end of her now? Sure hope so!

When you clear your mind of all the other clutter, isn’t it amazing to realize just how far so many people have gotten on their BS? It astounds me. I’m an introvert and more at home with introverts. Takes a HUGE extrovert to enter politics..
