One evening Slava, Russian man, was getting back home thru the cold city streets. Suddenly he spotted a little ball of wool on the sidewalk. It wasnt moving and it wasnt clear what it was at all. Slava still decided to stop and check if its a live being or not.
Something was telling me that this can be a little animal that needs help, says Slava. When he approached it he discovered this was a frozen kitten. At first it got afraid of the man, but it wasnt capable of running away.
I covered it in a blanket and took with myself, said Slava.
He took kitty back home and was warming it up next to a radiator. Soon little animal started purring.
He decided to leave the cat to live with himself and called her Nika.
The only consequence of the cat spent so many time outside was its tail. It had to be amputated because was completely frozen. In all other senses cat Nika is a nice and cheering cat and Slava is happy with her.
Sweet little girl!

Amputated tail. Poor critter.
Life is odd. Wouldn’t have taken a cat if I was offered money before my head injury.
While I was in the hospital mom and girlfriend got me a kitten (I guess you can’t die once someone buys you a kitten lol).
That was 11 plus years ago and he was my best friend through five years of recovering.
I’m no activist, but someone would be in a heap of trouble if they intentionally hurt Spaghetti.
She is a sweet little girl and lucky to have been found. Kudos to the kind soul who saved her. I can’t abide people who do such horrible things to helpless animals. God’s creature the same as anyone of us. But not like my cat. Last night my cat told me he didn’t want to be called a cat anymore. He said from now on he wanted to known as a ‘’Feline-American’’.
Sounds like he was a great cat.
It’s great having so many.
Rabbits too.
wow.
What a beautiful cat!
Why spaghetti?
I like rabbit stew!
PING over to Slings And Arrows.
I’m on staten island and had more than a few shore houses with buddies in my youth :)
Been to AC a few hundred times.
Love Egg Harbor and that whole area.
Sisters live in Hazlet and Middletown.
Take 80W to PA and love the scenery in NJ on the way.
I think that’s the first real food I had after I got home and what the heck, I’m Italian, so I went with Spaghetti.
It was before I became a bigger fan of Angel Hair pasta.
Angel Hair would have been a very cool name.
The marina where we bought our boat motor has a cat called “Lucky”. It has no ears or tail as they were frozen off. It was a tamed feral cat.
Feral cats do not live long up here, if winter does not get them, coyotes will.
The easiest way to tame one is to find one half frozen like the article, bring it inside and feed it. They will be your buddy for life.
We tamed a little black one and named him Spooky. When we went outside we could here him crashing through the woods running towards us. He’d come flying at us, put on the brakes, skid to a stop, lay on his back and want a belly rub. But he would not let us hold him.
Coyotes finally got him.
Beautiful, sweet kitty!
We have six we’ve rescued, and had eight at one time. All inside and spoiled.
Damn coyotes. Now that I’m semi-retired I’ll be sniping them every chance I get.
A Staten Island cat named Spaghetti. LMAO. Do you also have a goldfish named Ravioli? :-)
I can double confirm that NJ is a very beautiful state, and some of the nicest people live there. You, my FRiend, are a fortunate man.
My friend has seven Bassett hounds that had issues so she adopts them, even old ones , so they dont have to die in a shelter. Her only regret is that they tie her down and its impossible to travel with her husband. One has to stay to take care of the hounds.
