Importantly, in the vast, overwhelming majority of gun self defense incidents, it happens like this. The gun is not fired, and the thugs run away.
Conversely, a high percentage of the time, when thugs *are* shot, it is because a gun is visibly pulled on them to get them to stop, and they foolishly keep on coming. This is very important, and only part of the time can it be blamed on drugs and alcohol. There are just so many violent fools who will stupidly charge a gun.
It was sarcasm considering the draconian gun laws there.
Which really isn't saying much.
In Hungary the opera there had white folks put on black face to perform Porgie and Bess.
It was sarcasm considering the draconian gun laws there.
Our laws are far, far better than in NJ or CA. There are no restrictions on magazine capacity for instance and no stupid assault rifle foolishness either.
Cook county has their own regulations but theyre almost completely ignored. Gun stores are under no obligation to deny sales based on addresses.
So draconian doesnt really apply here.

Okay - the way the MSM reports it that Chicago’s gun laws are super strict. I love living in WA where it’s open carry and a CPP is granted in four days no question (so long as you pass the background check).
I disagree. Chicagoans are able to purchase handguns, and are able to obtain concealed carry permits on a "shall issue" basis.
Californians can only buy an ever-shrinking pool of handguns that are still on the "approved" roster, and can only obtain concealed carry permits on a "may issue" basis, which in some counties is treated as "no issue," while in other counties is treated as "shall issue," depending on the whim of the local law enforcement official.
It is extremely expensive and practically impossible to obtain a permit to keep a pistol in one's home in New York City, and if such a permit is issued, the owner cannot transport the handgun outside of the five boroughs. And as to obtaining a concealed carry permit, it is nearly impossible unless you are well connected. (both President Trump and Donald Trump Jr. have NYC concealed carry permits, which shows you how connected you need to be.)
After McDonald and Moore v. Madigan, Chicagoans have it pretty good as far as the Second Amendment goes. They are without a doubt far and away the most free of the large, liberal-run cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Newark, or Washington, D.C.
And Chicagoans are much better off than residents of Hawaii, California, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Connecticut, Massachusetts, etc., when it comes to the
Well I was kinda saying in general. When I fly to ORD and have an overnight I don’t go into town with some crews. I’d like to but the random shootings scare me. The hotel we’re put up in is okay, nice lounge and food’s good.
Well, thats the MSM. They lie. Always.
No open carry here unless youre on your own property or place of business. CCL takes multiple classes and 60-90 days. But its a Shall Issue system. Pass the classes, which are easy, and pay the fees and you get the permit.
Its not what Id like but the Illinois State Rifle Association did amazing work with the lawsuits and writing the statute. Mrs L and I each own an
AR and an AK. No issues there.
So dont believe everything you hear. If you have questions feel free to ping me.
Enjoy your evening.

Indeed. It was a fascinating course. I have dwelled on it quite a bit since I took it.
It was all pretty new to me, but a relief to take the course, because the gun laws weren’t quite as outlandish as I feared they might be. A good deal of it was common sense.
That said, I would still not want to enter the legal abyss in this state due to a self defense action. It wasn’t as cut and dried as I hoped it might be, and to put my fate in jurors from a blue state seems like a foolhardy thing.
But best to know, than not to know.
Ah yes, Washington state, home of Initiative 594, where you need to pay an FFL dealer for a background check before your brother-in-law can loan you a shotgun for duck hunting.
Congratulations on becoming the First-In-The-Nation poster child state passing 'universal background check' ballot initiatives.
Oh, and congratulations are in order again for passing Initiative 1639, which took away the rights of 18-20 year olds from purchasing semiautomatic rifles, and added a mandatory 10 day waiting period, AND must have taken a certified gun safety course within the previous 5 years, before anyone over 21 can purchase a semiautomatic rifle. And you better have a good safe, because you now also have mandatory gun storage laws thanks to I 1639,
Stay on alert, Skydancer, because the Bloomberg-funded gun-grabbers are coming back for even more of your rights.
But lots of screaming "STOP...STOP" when he pulled the gun...
He clearly was in an Amish no-go zone...
Gun Control KILLS
Most firearms are illegal to possess within the city limits of Shitcago.
Absolutely false. Mrs. L and I both have CCL in Illinois and theres no law whatsoever that forbids us from carrying inside the city limits.

He clearly was in an Amish no-go zone...
Nope. It happened at the corner of Michigan Ave and Ohio. Thats some of the most expensive real estate in Chicago. Lots of very high end shopping, bars, and restaurants.
And it was broad daylight. The Morlocks are getting restless, thats all.

Hard to say whether I missed Chicago or Milwaukee the most.. . Great towns...Great people... They loved servicemen...
Amazing... I have such vivid wonderful memories of Chicago when I got back from overseas in 1953 and was a swab-prisoner chaser (for 7-months) at the Great Lakes NTC brig...
That area is very popular with graduates of Great Lakes. On any given day you can find a group of freshly minted Seamen at the Rock&Roll McDonalds which is just a few blocks from there this happened. That job sounds like fun. Back in my younger days I did some Bail Enforcement work, bounty hunting as its commonly known.
Didnt make a lot of money but sure had a good time doing it.
Sure hated when they sent me back to Pendleton...
Hey, it could have been 29 Palms!
Hard to say whether I missed Chicago or Milwaukee the most.. . Great towns...Great people...
Ive lived in the Chicago area since 1972. Spent my teen years kicking around Chicago. Folks around here love to bash it and its very painful to me to see how far its fallen. But there are parts of it that are amazing. The River Walk in particular is stunning. I frequently walk it on the way to see clients in the Loop. On a nice summer day its one of the must see places in America.
Then theres the Trump Tower rising magnificently as if it were a giant middle finger right in the heart of things flipping off the Leftist mob running the city.
I like to stroll by it wearing my bright red MAGA hat almost daring anyone to get in my face. LOL
Enjoy your day.

You're right - that's interesting.
But this video is a perfect example of the more than two million lawful defensive uses of firearms each year. Not a shot fired, but a crime thwarted.
