The video below shows an incident that just happened in Chicago. Some violent thugs start brutally beating an innocent man. Then he pulls out a gun and scares them away. He never pulled the trigger.
I challenge any anti-gun person to explain why this man was wrong to do what he did.

I was shocked by the color of the perps and the innocent man...
There were clearly at least several people watching this all happen. From the background sound of the video, they were nonchalant as the old guy was mugged, but really screamed only when he pulled a gun to defend himself.
Prolly illegal in Chicago. Hope the don’t arrest him.
He drew his gun to “Stop the threat”...
I just took a four hour course on gun laws in my very blue state, and when he pulled his gun and they retreated, he couldn’t shoot them, as deserved as that might be.
If he had shot one while the thug was trying to smash his head against the wall, that would have been defensible. (unequal combatants (two on one) and the brick wall against his head could be classified as deadly force)
They sure did look like they richly deserved it, no doubt.
I would have called the cops in my state.
That guy wasn’t a cop, was he? Or was he? Hard to tell...perhaps a security guy carrying?) because in the course I took, they said not only that drawing your gun was the same as shooting it in the eyes of the law, if the thugs were to call the cops and say a guy pulled a gun on them (if they had the gall to do so) the guy with the gun might be the person on the defensive instead of the thugs because they got their story in first.
Can’t put anything past thugs who attack a guy two on one, they might be stupid enough to do something like that under some circumstance. Or if someone inside only saw the guy pull his gun and called the cops.

Boy, no kidding. Beating up a white guy, especially one that kind of resembled an LEO was just fine and dandy, but whoa, he pulls out a gun to defend himself and evil is awakened.
The background voices sounded black. And yes, sometimes you can tell. So it was a-ok they were beating up an old white guy.
A personal firearm? In Chicago? He shoulda been arrested.
How much did he pay these guys to dress up in black face and attack him?
I would have gone for the two-hand presentation, but this got the job done.
The sistas was ok with the white devil gittin his head pounded in, but when he pulled out the equalizer, suddenly it was “No! No! No!”.
This was a strange incident. He looks like some kind of armed security. They rough him up a bit. He pulls a gun and they lesurely go away. They didnt act like they thought they were about to be shot.
No, he shouldn't have, since the threat subsided when he drew his weapon.
But this video is a perfect example of the more than two million lawful defensive uses of firearms each year. Not a shot fired, but a crime thwarted.

Notice how the people recording the incident are quiet while the white guy is getting beating up, but start screaming “No! No!” when he pulls his gun on the thugs.
