John Roberts of Fox News is now reporting the cancellation came in an ’emergency call’ from the Pentagon to Pelosi’s office less than one hour before scheduled departure.
Trump denies use of a government plane for Pelosi’s trip to Brussels, Egypt and Afghanistan. Tells her that she can of course fly commercial if she wants.
President Trump on Thursday told House Speaker Nancy Pelosi he was canceling the official government jet for a trip she planned to take to Brussels, Egypt and Afghanistan, saying it would be wrong for her to go while the government is shut down.
“In light of the 800,000 great American workers not receiving pay, I am sure you would agree that postponing this public relations event is totally appropriate,” he wrote in a letter to the California Democrat.
He said Mrs. Pelosi could fly commercial instead.

You beat me to it. The only thing about stopping the flight I don’t like is missing the opportunity to strand them in Afghanistan for a few weeks, preferably in a remote valley in Kandihar province without security. Offer to negotiate the wall deal by phone so they can come home.
The Dems will clip the funding for Air Force One. Book it.

I love it, I love Trump. He’s just so great, this move is outstanding!
My post was sloppy, because he was really intending for the Roadrunner to smack head-on full speed into the rocks, thinking it was thru-way, but then the road or track became real all right, complete with the real traffic that Wile E. hadn’t considered.
Thus I inadvertantly skipped over the distinction because the result was that poor Wile E. was run over by the reality that he envisioned for the Roadrunner, except that he wasn’t a visionary.
Where’s the Tylenol, lol.

Pelosi loves the perk of having her own dedicated Air Force Plane at her beck and call.
Well now she has to buy that perk back, in negotiations with Trump.
She would probably be willing to spend an extra billion taxpayer’s dollars to get her favorite perk back.
