Get real, the customer at no time presented himself as a physical threat and therefore the idiot behind the counter had zero legal justification to assault him.

I’ve looked at the video several times.
First, the clerk was out of control. Besides the yelling and screaming at the guy, it appears he attempted to hit the customer or did hit the customer and try to knock the camera out of the customer’s hands. He repeats this action later in the video.
Meanwhile, the Trump supporter was just egging the guy on verbally. He realized this clerk wasn’t rational and was just hoping to either get a good video or cause the clerk to do something that would give him (customer) something actionable.
There’s enough blame to go around on this one, but I don’t know if Georgia law defines political opinion as a “protected class”. If so, the clerk is wrong and the owner of the business has a real mess on his hands.
If not, then the owner of the business has a terrible public relations problem to deal with.
The clerk...has some very disturbing mental issues that should be addressed.

Point of fact, the 1964 Civil Rights Act applies to whites and blacks. The clerk is discriminating against this man not only because of his political beliefs, but because he is white, because of the color of his skin. That the clerk is also white is perhaps a matter of some amusement, but of no particular import. We have long been told it is impossible for a black person to be racist. Now the latest twist the kids are taught, it is impossible for a white not to be racist. No exceptions. Period. Ever.

If he did strike the customer, then there could be an assault. I doubt a prosecutor would do anything though. But the clerk does not have the right to physically strike anyone because of words.

I went back and listened to the video again, and I can’t tell if he was referring to the customer or Trump. He is obviously on the phone with someone (owner?)and he says he is not going to wait on the guy and kind of lumps him into the same category as Trump (his words, not mine) After that the rant become so incoherent it’s hard to determine who he’s talking about.

The private property rights crowd is confused. They would be the same crowd demanding that White only drinking fountains be legal because of property rights.

In the hypothetical... the customer calls the police, wants to file charges and the other customer corroborates the “complainant’s” story.
Usually, a report is then taken and filed.
The complainant would have to see a prosecutor and a warrant/summons could be filed against the clerk.
At that point, there would be an initial appearance, the clerk could appear with private counsel or be appointed a public defender.
He would enter a plea.
In all likelihood a pre-trial would then be scheduled and the complainant, defendant, both prosecutor and defense counsel would meet to see if the case could be resolved without going to trial (plead to a lesser offense like a disorderly conduct).
If there are medical bills, they could be part of the plea agreement.
If there is no resolution at pre-trial, then a court date would be filed, subpoena’s issued to all parties (including the witness) and the defendant would have the option of either a court trial (judge) or a jury trial.
It would be highly unlikely the clerk would be arrested on the spot unless he started getting stupid with the responding crew or had outstanding warrants. Again, I don’t know Georgia law, but since this is probably a misdemeanor and the responding crew did not witness the assault, it would probably play out as I stated.
When Sarah Sanders was forced from the Red Hen restaurant earlier this year, many of the same folks were outraged.
