Very interesting, thanks for posting it. I noticed that the segment had 51,009 views when I first got there. I closed YouTube, then returned just to reverify the number, but it had not changed. Guess I don’t understand how that works.

While deer hunting near Goldendale, WA. in the mid 70’s, I was on a hillside with good visibility. The trees were spaced far apart, so there was a lot of open areas.
I heard a noise to my left. I slowly turned and looked. But saw nothing. There was a lot of Black Bears in the area, and it was common to see them. I had even seen Sows with her cub/s several times over the years.
As I continued to scan the area, I heard the noise again. Something moving in the underbrush. I realized it was coming from behind a group of three trees that had grown very close together. And I couldn’t see between them.
Then a large animal leaned out from the left side of the three trees. I could see it’s shoulder and head. It was covered in a dark brown fur. It’s head was huge. And it’s left arm had to be bigger than my thigh.
It took a half step to its left and I knew then it wasn’t a bear. Nor anyother animal I had ever seen before. I had to be around 7 feet tall, or better. A big barrel chest.
I had slowly raised my rifle when it stuck it’s head out. Thinking it was a bear. And now I was keeping it aimed at the thing. I didn’t think about running, as I figured it could catch me in an instant. So we just continued to stare at each other.
After what seemed like an eternity, it stepped back behind the three trees. Then I could hear I walk away. It was big heavy steps. Like it didn’t care that it was being heard.

It was then that I noticed the sweat running down my face. And under my arms. But I still continued to watch that area for a good hour.
I next made my way around the slope of the hill towards our camp. Which was less than a mile away. I walked as softly as I could. And stopped often to listen.
I made it back to the camp and just collapsed. I had never been so wound up. For a guy that was only 15 to see something like that. Alone in the woods. Stories about Bigfoot were not common at the time. There might be a mention once or twice a year. But nothing like later when all the books and TV shows came out. Plus like today with the net.

I’m 60 now. That’s one of my stories. Believe it if you want to or not. I’m a former Police Officer. I’ve passed numerous background checks and polygraphs.

Thank you.
It was the only time I was ever frightened/scared while hunting. And I was carrying a M1 Garand at the time (my father’s).
I stayed in camp the rest of the day to let my nerves settle.

Everybody has a camera phone today. If there isn’t a picture today, then it didn’t happen. I don’t give a rat’s ass if it is Bigfoot, the Loch Ness monster, the abominable snowman, a UFO or a ghost. Everybody and their brother has a quality camera in their smartphone and there is no excuse anymore for the lack of a picture whenever anybody comes up with one of these fantasy stories.

“Pics or it didn’t happen” is a flat out fact today.

This is how I know there is no such thing as Bigfoot. We would have genuine un-doctored photos already.

I have had my own encounters. I lived in a remote cabin in Arkansas for a few years. I never saw one, but I have heard what I believe was them.

One night, pitch black outside. No wind. Silent. I was on front porch and thought I heard a faint, deep hmmmm sound. I walked to the edge of the porch and peered out into the darkness. I listened as closely as could.

Suddenly it dawned on me what I was hearing. It was a deep growl. Not loud, but by a very large animal that didn’t want me standing there. Maybe within 10-15 feet of me. I did the quickest 180 ever... and got in the front door!

There were other occasions. I’ve been close. But I would love to see one, under the right conditions... and armed!

Well, see, these things all happened like 25 years ago or more. And the more recent ones -— they dropped their phone in the water, or were too terrified to take a picture. So that’s how I know they’re all true! Besides, who would lie about a thing like that? Ok, well, yeah, maybe a bunch of adolescent boys, but who ELSE would lie about a thing like that? Ok, well maybe some guy who likes to play practical jokes, but who else? Nobody, right? :D
