One Thanksgiving item that is sure to add carbs to your meal is stuffing. However, in this video I show you how to prepare a NO CARB alternative to bread stuffing.
BTW, another reason why I want to reach my weight goal by next month is that if I do, I will have a YUUUUUUUGE announcement to make that will SHOCK the world. But in order to make that announcement I need to reach the goal of dropping 100 pounds.
You gain 6 lbs on Thanksgiving?? Ridiculous.
Most studies say about a pound. Big deal. Your metabolism will take care of that in a week.
Thanksgiving ....”and the period soon afterwards.”
So ... is there a recipe for no-carb pecan pie?
BTW, title should be "How I Prepared No Carb Thanksgiving STUFFING." The turkey is naturally no-carb but it is the stuffing and the pumpkin pie that adds the carbs.
I had pumpkin pie but didn’t eat the crust. I know that has some carbs, so it’s not no carb.
Correct. And in South Florida with my Latin in-laws that would involve preparing a whole pig (or at least a baby pig) around Christmas complete with rice, beans, etc... In my case, I will just dig into the pig and skip the rice & beans.
It’s not stuffing, it’s dressing, and if it isn’t made with cornbread, it’s not either one.
Yep.
I’ve actually stuffed both turkey and chickens with the pork rind “stuffing.” I didn’t do it this time because I was smoking the turkey.
Splenda works really in pumpkin pie.
Pork rind meatloaf is the best!
Suckling pig. That sounds tasty.
Recipe?
Pumpkin pie has sugar unless you substitute with splenda. Crust is carby.
I think the 6lb figure is the average people gain over “the holidays”, that is between Thanksgiving and New Year.
Personally I’ve been on a not too strict low carb diet for about six months, 10-20 grams of carbs a day. I’ve consistently lost about a pound a week, 30 lbs total so far. Not that hard, but I’ll go ahead and eat some on a holiday, just not the whole month. I had stuffing and pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving. Funny thing is I couldn’t even finish one piece of pie, it just tasted too sweet.
Betty Crocker. Just swap the bread crumbs with pork rinds. The topping has sugar so we use mustard.
I’m sure it was made with sugar, so I guess that doesn’t count.
And I add a special sound effect for entertainment: "PEEEEEEEEG!!!!
I really need to do a video of that so you get the real effect. What happened is that years ago I knew a fat Chinese cook who worked at a Caribbean restaurant but knew little English. His favorite item to prepare was pork and he could often be heard gleefully yelling from the kitchen in a thick accent: "PEEEEEEEEEG!!!"
The thing is his voice came more from his stomach than from his throat and my imitation of him reflects that so I too like to scream, while doing his accent, "PEEEEEEEEG!!!"
As I said, I might have to do a video of that scream while preparing pork. Perhaps when I smoke up some pork ribs.
PEEEEEEEEEEEG!!!!!
