This chart shows how everything has changed since Trump became president

Since Donald Trump won the presidency, he has presided over both one the most tumultuous political times in recent memory, as well as the best economy the country has seen since well before the financial crisis. Consumer and small business confidence is up — but so are both the national debt and budget deficit.

The chart below, using mostly data compiled by Goldman Sachs, quantifies just how much things changed from the days just before the election in November 2016 through September 2018.

Of course, the stock market has weakened in October, which has been its historically most volatile month. The chart doesn't include GDP, which has averaged 2.72 percent since Trump took over, compared to the 1.6 percent gain in 2016.

But the numbers provide a solid overview of how conditions have evolved during the 45th president's time in office....

I don’t see how labor participation rate went down. That does not make sense to me. I also do not see how budget deficit went up by almost 10% either.

Yes, the election supercedes the inability to get a security clearance. Two cases in point: Clinton and Obama

Of course. Obama was. The People are the final arbiter. By virtue of taking the oath of office the President gets the top security clearance there is.

However, as a civilian trying to get a government job or a military commission I suspect that under any non-political review Obama would failed to get a security clerance due to his communist/radical associations in the past).

I suspect that the same applies to members of Congress. Once they are elected, by virtue of their oath they become entitled to see the intelligence that by law members of Congress are allowed to see.

You can’t single individual members out, I am pretty sure.

Yes. Clearance is not a requirement for any elective office.

Note that the Executive Branch (The President) is in control of ALL security clearances, EXCEPT for those for Congress and their staff. Congress has its own ‘security clearance’ and it’s basically a joke and works on the honor system.

Why was Obama not able to get a clearance?

Truthfully, I don’t know if he ever did seek a clearance.

Beyond that, we’d need to know if openly using marijuana and cocaine would be a bar.

If someone cannot get a security clearance the public should be made aware of it.

YES!

There are only three requirements to become president and a security clearance is not one of the three.
