Senate Democrats accepted an offer Thursday from Senate Republicans to confirm 15 lifetime federal judges in exchange for the ability to go into recess through the midterms, allowing endangered Democrats to campaign.
Some liberal activists are urging Democrats to show more fight after Brett Kavanaughs confirmation to the Supreme Court; Markos Moulitsas of Daily Kos even said that Democrats need a new Senate leader after the agreement was struck.

Exactly. Only 15?
This is perhaps reason 2512 why I’m not in the Senate - but I’d have said to Schumer “You know what, Chuck? We want a recess too. But as far as I’m concerned, we’re gonna stay in session until I get at least 30 of them confirmed”.
I wonder if the three Circuit ct. judges included in the deal are those 9th cir. judges Feinstein was trying to block.
There are government posts still unfilled.
What about them ?
Bingo!
In the event, giving the socialist Dems the opportunity to campaign cost the R's; i.e., it was less than a break-even for us (and, despite the mantra, for the moment some judges were indeed left behind).
Wonder how the D's would have handled it with BJ or Obama in office? (Recess appointments.)
Everyone, this is just the latest round. See https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_federal_judges_appointed_by_Donald_Trump As of October 11, 2018, the United States Senate has confirmed 84 Article III judges nominated by President Trump, including 2 Associate Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States, 29 judges for the United States Courts of Appeals, 53 judges for the United States District Courts, and 0 judges for the United States Court of International Trade.[2] There are currently 57 nominations to Article III courts awaiting Senate action, including 7 for the Courts of Appeals, 48 for the District Courts, and 2 for the Court of International Trade.
The good news is Mitch has said he’s going to get everyone on the list confirmed by the end of the year... The ‘15’ were just a way to clear some of the work off his desk...
However, from my perspective much of the "bitching" on these pages addresses what presently appears to be a functional disconnect between the Congress and the Oval Office, and is largely centered on what seems to be wounds self-inflicted by the R's.
There is a broader background, of course, as it appears to many the Dems (brass-knuckle street fighters) historically out-negotiate the R's (compassionate gentlemen) in most instances and we are seriously concerned about that.
Perhaps the R's ought to adopt a parent-child attitude and give the Dems (and the MSM) significant amounts of tough love.
“I wonder if the three Circuit ct. judges included in the deal are those 9th cir. judges Feinstein was trying to block.”
I wonder that too. I really hope we got those in this deal. The 9th is the sole reason the CA pols get away with the drivel the spew forth constantly. Get good solid judges on the 9th and the CA political nonsense comes crashing down around them.
Don’t confuse some of these folks with facts.
Mitch the great has gotten 26 appellate judges confirmed 14 in the hopper. In 6. Years those courts are going to be awesome
I may be incorrect, but I don’t think this batch of 15 confirmations includes the 9th Circuit nominees. I believe the 9th got three appointees, but not yet confirmed. That’s a fight for after the midterms, I suppose
T the great needs to be on rushmore yesterday.i can’t imagine how depressed I would if the beast had 2 scotus picks and dozens of appellate judges,we would be in terrible shape
Trump should employ the same delay tactics perfected by the Demroids.
