My dear FRiends, let's agree in prayer together that the Lord Jesus will move on our behalf and heal our bodies from the curse of nicotine addiction. Jesus is the same "Yesterday, Today, and Forever"; the miracles that He did during His ministry, and after He rose from the dead before He went up into Heaven, He still does today. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, dear ones. He loves you and wants the very best for you, and He will never, ever leave you nor forsake you.
Father God, in the Name of Your Son Jesus we ask forgiveness for our sins. We forgive all who have ever wronged us. Dear Lord God, please have mercy on us who suffer so much from the plague of this substance, and heal our bodies. Thank you, my Lord and Savior, that you have heard our prayers, and we praise Your Wonderful, Holy Name, the Name Above All Names, Amen.
And deliver us from Liberalism!
He can, but rarely does it twice.
Just a warning...
I ran to the bathroom and threw up.
I told myself I was not going to smoke today.
That was three years ago and I've never smoked even a puff of a cigarette since. No nicotine in any form. No pills. No patches. Straight cold turkey.
I'm not the most religious man in the world but it truly was as if God Himself turned off a switch in my brain.
Best of luck to you! It can be done.
“I could for the first time smell my body as it smelled to non-smokers.”

And when you stopped I bet food tasted better (well, good food I mean) and air was so much fresher, too!
Prayers incoming.
I quit cold turkey in March of 86.
The company I worked for provided a new Chevy Caprice to drive.
It smelled so good I could bring myself to smoke in it so I quit.
(It took five years before I quit reaching into my shirt pocket.)
Hacking until out of breath and feeling "the feint" coming on .... a short time of staring and being out-of-my-body-out-of-control was enough for me.
I had two really bad heart attacks (same time) and had come down with pneumonia. This put me in the hospital for over a week. I never even thought about smokes and when I got out, I had no urge to light up. Been clean just over 4 years. I’m also in better shape than ever at 66 y/o.
As noble as that prayer is, it’s small ball.
Nicotine aint an addiction, its a pastime. What’s next, free us from FR addiction?
Faith was what enabled me to kick a 30 year pack a day habit for good. I simply made a heartfelt deal with God to give me the strength to never smoke another cigarette again. Once I made that deal I certainly had to hold up my end since God helps those who helps themselves. I’ve never to this day ever had another cigarette after that, would in my mind be sacrilege to do so which was the key to quitting for good. Looking back quitting was actually quite easy to be honest, like I took the burden off myself and let God carry it for a while until the I was free of the addiction.
Lord Jesus Christ, all authority in heaven and earth has been given to you. For the glory of your Name, please answer our friend’s prayer. Amen.
Amen. One of my fave movies. John Wick sure kicks heavenly ass..
I was a heavy smoker, two to three packs of Pall Mall unfiltered daily. They were great and were killing me. Quite cold turkey in 1972. Smoked nothing for many years. Today I am 70 and smoke a half of a cigar in the morning and the evening sitting outside with my dogs. I enjoy this greatly and they will pry my cigar from my cold dead hands after taking away my 1911 ACP. I like my cigars.
I was a smoker and had a heart attack a week after my 51st birthday in 2012. I was driving between Naples, FL and Cincinnati, OH.
I thought at first it was just heart burn from smoking, drinking a warm Dr. Pepper, and eating Doritos Red at 7:00 am.
Drove all the way to Cincy from Tampa with big chest pain.
Long story short, doctor said I needed a stent - that the nicotine scratches arteries and plaque builds up on the scratches.
After the procedure and stopping smoking I’m in much better shape. Lost my pilot’s certificate but have since gotten it back.
I quit two ways:
Nicorette chews when I HAD to have some.
I thought of my family burying me if I didn’t quit.
When I finished my last cig, I said “I will never smoke a cigarette again. No matter what.”
And I never have!
I hope you are able to quit. After a couple of weeks, you’ll wonder why it was so hard!!!!
If you can exercise, I would highly recommend it. I quit cold turkey 2+ years ago, worked out like a maniac so I wouldn’t put my head through a wall when cravings came. I actually lost weight while quitting. The endorphins you get from good clean exercise, even moderate exercise, really help to offset the nicotine addiction, at least in my experience. Also, it’s harder to get depressed when you are in really good shape. Good luck and prayers.
