The National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action recently announced support for a lawsuit brought by Guns Save Life challenging the Deerfield, Illinois gun confiscation ordinance. The lawsuit challenges Deerfields recent attempt to criminalize so-called assault weapons and high capacity magazines within village limits.
Every law-abiding villager of Deerfield has the right to protect themselves, their homes, and their loved ones with the firearm that best suits their needs, said Chris W. Cox, executive director of NRA-ILA. The National Rifle Association is pleased to assist Gun Save Life in defense of this freedom.
By amending an existing 2013 ordinance, the Village Board of Trustees has now empowered local authorities to confiscate and destroy all assault weapons and high capacity magazines possessed within village limits. The amendment also imposes a daily fine ranging between $250 and $1,000.

Play the long game. Tolerate the local assaults on the 2nd until we get another SC Justice. If another 2nd challenge goes the SC I think Kennedy will flip and well effectively lose the 2nd. Bitter pill but be smart
I believe there are jurisdictional challenges that won’t necessarily turn on the constitutional issues, like preemption.
How does this gun grabbing work.
Do they reimburse you your costs?
No offense but I've literally heard this for over 40 years. 45 years ago people were saying "play the long game" well folks it doesn't work. Waiting while the enemy only gets stronger is not how to win. We win by ATTACKING not by playing defense on worse yet just waiting while again the enemy only gets stronger.
We must attack the NFA of 1934 and the GCA of 1968. We must demand the American people be armed as our government is armed. We are fighting over bump stocks while we wantonly accept hundreds of non military government agencies and local law enforcement possessing thousands of full auto military weapons, grenade launchers and military equipment. It amounts to a standing army the founders were so protective against. There is no such thing as "reasonable" gun control. We must stop WAITING. The supreme court refuses to even hear most 2nd amendment cases, why? because we let them. The way to win is to be louder and meaner than our enemy. Forget about being or sounding reasonable as our enemy is nothing of the sort. Start by exposing to the American people just how crazily armed every government agency and local police force truly are. Most Americans don't have a clue. Expose the hypocrisy of the government claiming there is no need to be able to spray bullets with a machine gun yet every last damn one of the alphabet soup agencies and even your local cops have thousands of machine guns. They LIE. Expose them. When is the government going to give up THEIR military weapons?
I’d have joined up if the NRA had been consistent in their ‘support’ of the 2nd A.
Capitulating over the years, while nuanceing your “position(s)” takes WAY more effort than just accepting/supporting “...shall NOT be infringed.”
I’ve been fighting the gun control menace since the 1968 gun control act. I was stationed in Germany at the time and it screwed me out of a mint Hi Power and PPK. They they have my undying hatred. By the way, that wretched law is still on the books. Long game my Obama.
