Stop Mistaking Evil for Mental Illness

I know almost nothing of the mental condition of confessed mass murderer Nikolas Cruz, and almost certainly, neither do you. There are few, if any, who can give a reliable opinion of the young man’s psychiatric state as he walked into [a FL h.s.] and killed 17. Nevertheless, after his killing spree... many in the media, along with the public at large, were willing at least to imply, if not directly describe, Mr. Cruz as someone who was “mentally disturbed,” “mentally ill,” “crazy,” a “nut-job,” a “psycho,”... and so on.

Those with a wide array of varying political and spiritual worldviews were willing to paint Mr. Cruz as a mental defect...

As our culture grows more and more secularized, it has become a very common practice to describe those who commit widespread acts of violence—especially if such violence involves the death of multiple human beings—as “crazy.” Some of this is tongue-in-cheek, but much of it is sincere. I believe this is the direct result of the psychiatric community attempting to redefine what is moral.

For decades we have witnessed the psychiatric community take acts that were long considered evil, or at least immoral and illegal, and deem them a “psychological disorder” that needs to be cured...

However, it’s a disaster for the culture. As C.S. Lewis lamented in his essay, The Humanitarian Theory of Punishment, when it comes to crime and punishment, we too often are facing off with those who believe “that all crime is more or less pathological.” Thus, instead of the criminal “getting what he deserves”—what used to be called “justice”—we must heal or cure him, and, as Lewis puts it, “punishment becomes therapeutic.”

The Media is helping Evil defend itself once again.

To a great extent, our liberal media is evil.

It is very leftist and Soviet Unionist to declare anyone who doesn’t agree with the party line to be “insane”. Hence the labels of “homophobia”, “islamophobia”, etc., used by the modern left.

That being said, the online ravings and declarations of this individual are seriously outside acceptable societal norms.

Also, the behavior of the jihadist truck bombers and terrorists, are cult-inspired. Cultures vary widely and often violently. The idiots who sing Kim-By-Yah and declare that we are all the same, are self-delusional to nearly the point of insanity. They take an insane position to deal with that which they want to ignore.

Bottom line...there are folks out there whose behavior and/or beliefs are so far outside the boundaries of acceptable civilized (By our society’s accepted moral standards!) behavior, that they need to be disposed of, either by institutionalization, or with extreme prejudice.

Some folks just need killin’!

So the kid did what any normal human being would do?

Evil and mental "status" are totally intertwined. No need to discount either. It's called Free Will.

Screaming mental “mental illness” does not support the narrative needed for more gun control while screaming “evil” brings a lot more meaning.

There was systematic political abuse of psychiatry in the Soviet Union, based on the interpretation of political opposition or dissent as a psychiatric problem...

During the leadership of General Secretary Leonid Brezhnev, psychiatry was used to disable and remove from society political opponents ("dissidents") who openly expressed beliefs that contradicted the official dogma.

So with his established ‘illness’...what drugs were prescribed? Noticed how nothing on this has been said by the cops?

I sat and watched the live feed from the other day when he was in court...I think whatever he was doped up on...has dissolved and he’s in some new reality...trying to figure out what he did. Don’t get me wrong....he is probably paranoid schizophrenic. But the drug helped him that way.

There are 2 spiritual leaders, God and Satan. If a person is not believing in God, then that person is controlled by Satan. There is no 3rd choice.

So the kid did what any normal human being would do? No, he did evil, and it should be recognized and treated as such.

We are reaping the fruits of turning our backs on God.

Satan will continue to fill the void until we return to God.

Some folks just need Jesus. Well, all do, but some already have Him.

Liberalism has denied the existence of evil: the deliberate, free will choice of that which harms humans and is contrary to human nature.

The author should stop equating a lack of self discipline and accountability with evil. It only gives these out of control idiots an excuse.

I’m not quite sure how to break the news to you. Facial features are one of the indicators of several mental conditions.

Where the ears rest on the side of your head, Downs syndrome. I used Downs because it is the most obvious but it is not the only facial feature that a mental health professional looks for.

Eyes that are placed slightly too far apart is an indicator of something else.

Well you can look into that.

These physical characteristics even though subtle are well known to mental health professionals and those who teach in the field.

No one, no mental health professional, can make a diagnosis without talking to and evaluating this person over a period of time, but that does not make them blind to his appearance when he walks in the door either.

My point in this is that Mental Health professionals can at times get insight into just looking at someone. Again this is not replacement for a diagnosis but it is a very real, and scientific, part of the whole picture.

Partner, I thought the Rat Party was mentally incapable of understanding right from wrong and now you are telling me that the "Rat Party is evil!"

Actually, I already thought the Rat party was both "Very Evil and mentally incapable of understanding right from wrong."

We’ve been confusing demonic interference with mental illness for some time.

It’s time to recognize the source of the evil and call it for what it is.
