Dating is risky. Never mind sex. A lot more boys are deciding not to. Just going their own way.

I think the difference is, back in the day most of us grew up, sex was mysterious and something of a right of passage. These days even elementary school kids have access to more porn with a few clicks of the mouse than even Hugh Heffner could get his hands on only a decade before. Therefore the mystery is gone. While this may seem good in the short term, we may quickly find ourselves in a situation like Japan where the people of reproduction age are turning to porn rather than sex and the population is in a death spiral.

The Washington Post is calling teenagers engaging in sex “risky behavior”???? That’s a switch. The Lib media used to portray teens who didn’t have sex as religious, out-of-touch prudes and Puritan fanatics in the making.

I am skeptical of this report. Teens around here don’t seem to have slowed down from ten years ago. Oral sex is rampant according to the 15-17 yo teens that I chat with at the corner.

Boys are getting warned by multiple people that they would respect that they have a target on their back. Because they do. So, they’re avoiding behavior that would have them alone with a girl, let alone fornicating with one.

Short term, good news because the unmarried teen pregnancy rate drops. Long term, very bad news as boys are simply avoiding intimate relationships. Lots of parents will never have grandkids as a result.
