At the close of 2017, no less than seven prominent male hosts and editors of influential government-sponsored radio and television shows are out of work amid claims of sexual harassment.
According to their accusers, the alleged Malevolent Seven are powerful pervs and creeps who've been running wild at NPR and PBS for decades, sponsored and subsidized by taxpayers and corporate donors.
In August, award-winning broadcast and radio host John Hockenberry departed from his public radio program The Takeaway on New York City's NPR affiliate, which garnered a peak audience of nearly 3 million weekly listeners on more than 270 stations. Female producers and interns accused him of harassment and bullying before and after he deployed his golden parachute. Hockenberry says he's "horrified" by the allegations.

I would be fine with no more public funding. I get irritated that taxpayer dollars are funding a leftist propaganda agenda. Where I live, the propaganda has now become the primary thing on our once classical music station. The classical music is relegated 2 a second, lower power station (which I can’t get at home but can hear at certain parts in my car), but I notice all the propaganda programming disguised as “news” is also now starting to take that one over as well.
Hear! Hear! Defund the communist propaganda now.
This part of the Ministry of Propaganda is subsidized by the taxpayers.
That should cease.
Shut them down. Let the shows be picked up by the public sector with NO government subsidies.
How much $$$$$$$$$$$$$ has been made on SESAME STREET on the government dime? Not only do they rake in millions, HOLLYWOOD ACTORS and the OBAMAS are paid for their cameo appearances.

It is the evil uniparty congress that perpetuates them.
Don’t just cut their funding, shut them down. Then if they want to start up again under private ownership, let them figure out how to do it.
Here are my priorities:
1) Build the Wall - end chain migration
2) Clean up the Swamp - get rid of all the seditious Democrats in the deep state. Clean up DOJ, the FBI, and other alphabet agencies.
3) End the ethanol mandate

Simple....Cut back funding significantly and get new people to manage. Just takes the WILL.
I agree. Why the heck do they still get government funding? CSPAN is the organization that provides an attempt at unbiased coverage, and it’s funded by pennies a month from each cable TV subscriber.
Defunding public broadcasting propaganda is a classic conservative wish list item. Trouble is, Weak RINO’s won’t vote for it.
You need perhaps as many as 65-70 GOP senators to get enough conservative muscle to pass it. Too many wobblies get in the way. Susan Collins going to vote for it? It’s more certain the sun will fail to rise tomorrow than that.
Good luck getting rid of taxpayer funds for PBS and NPR.

NPR/PBS had liberals for 47 years. Trump should replace them will all conservatives for 47 years. Fair is Fair!

Much to my surprise, host Kai Ryssdal was having none of it. And when the same loser Dem senator called the $1600 average savings in taxes Americans will now enjoy "crumbs" Ryssdal called him out on this as well.
Once in a while NPR can be fair. And lately, compared to the unhinged rage over at CNN and MSNBC, NPR sounds almost neutral.
Government supported media is another form of welfare.
Sesame Street has been on privately owned HBO for years.
