POLL: Do you believe the sexual misconduct allegations against Senate nominee Roy Moore?
Yes
No
I'm not sure
And THAT is what I said on Day One.
This is all coordinated smearing.
No, No and NO!!!!!
I Understand your sentiments but don't try to tell mother nature that. I'm pretty sure you will lose the argument.
No one says he dated 14 year olds. That has never been mentioned. He has been accused of assaulting two 14 year olds. One is obviously lying, and the other one has a history of accusing men of trying to molest her.
Too little supportive information, except ‘he said, she said’.
The Allred ‘evidence’ seemed to have fallen apart by yesterday.
Also, many 15 or 16 or 17 year old girls would be thrilled at the opportunity of having an older male showing them attention. At that age, they are not necessarily so innocent, not even in the 1970s.
The Dems/Media/Libs got a lot of mileage out of the allegations, but they just didn’t have enough actual facts/evidence to prove anything.
POLL: Do you believe the sexual misconduct allegations against Senate nominee Roy Moore?
No (71%)
Yes (24%)
I’m not sure (5%)
Then don't vote for him.
If I were to put myself into the mind of an early 30something professional in rural Alabama in 1977, I'd be thinking the following:
I'm laying out a reason why there might be a pattern, but that the pattern is not a predation. Today, his opponents are trying to ex post facto criminalize his courting.

Deep South denizen here.
When I was 18 I desperately wanted to date a 31 year old man. I was crazy about him. Right after I turned 19 we did start dating. (He had a girlfriend when I was 18.) This was in 1981. Legal drinking age was 19.
We were not an unusual couple in our circle.
Personally, I don’t think Leigh Corfman is being honest. She claims she was 14, but her own mother said she was lying about having a phone in her room.
The other three were 17 or 18, and said nothing happened. Moore remembers them as being 18 and 19.
That picture actually bothers me more than the recent allegations.
Even in Chicago I can remember the owner of the restaurant we visited asking my mother for permission to date me when I was 16 or 17. Went on one date. Not impressed. But it wasn’t stop the world time.
So,you’re calling my parents and thousands like them perverts even after 50+ yrs of marriage?
Well he did not have sex
with any of them that I’ve read.
So, no.
Besides, I don’t believe them. Yes I
am calling them liars.
>>16 years old is the legal age of consent in Alabama.
That’s now. Not then. I thought I read it was 12 at the time of the dating.
No (73%)
You, and those who hold views like yours are part of the problem.
The rest of your post aside, you failed yourself to see the fundamental difference between Roy Moore's behavior (dating 16 year old child while he was an adult) vs. Roy Moore dating a 24 year old woman when he was 38.
Do you SEE the problem here? Grown men have ZERO business "dating" 16 year old female children. Period. Full Stop.
Difference: You were 18. Old enough to vote, in most states old enough to drink and legally speaking an ADULT responsible for your own decisions.
We were not an unusual couple in our circle.
We damn' yankees have words for 31 year old men who date 19 year old girls: CREEPS.
I'll tell you flat out I'm 55, financially secure, single, and I've had women young enough to be my daughter ask me out. I say NO. Not just NO, HELL NO.
I do not understand the moral disconnect between the south and the north on this one. I'm struggling to understand it and I just cannot. The concept of a 30'ish year old man like Roy Moore dating a 16 year old is just so foreign to me and wrong on every moral level. Don't care if the parents "approve" it, it's wrong in my opinion.
You're a dumbass if you think I'm going to argue with you about something which I did not say. Have a nice day.
Well, I guess you won’t be voting for Roy Moore, but you wouldn’t be in any case regardless. You’re battling human nature and are very caught up in a quasi-moral revulsion of very recent vintage, that has arisen since the advent of birth control. As a group, women want security. As a group, men want physical beauty. So, husbands have always been older than wives on average, sometimes considerably so. This is particularly pronounced the farther back in history you go. Am I excusing child sexual abuse? No, I am not. Innocence must be protected and laws must be followed. We’re not talking about lost innocence or lawbreaking in the instance of Roy Moore, though, are we now?
No.
