For the very first time in history the United States Government will have to answer to the judiciary about the scheduling of cannabis and its unconstitutionality. Jeff Sessions, the DEA, and the DOJ will all have to stand trial according to the judge overseeing their case. This is the first time that a trial to legalize cannabis has proceeded past the normal attempts at dismissal. All of the defendants will have to get recorded depositions. This is great news for the plaintiffs in the case which include Army combat veteran, Jose Belen, former NFL player Marvin Washington, 11 year old Alexiss Bortell who uses cannabis to treat her epilepsy, Jagger Cotte. The developments are also welcome news for cannabis advocates around the country. If this lawsuit is successful, it would mean the scheduling of cannabis will be ruled unconstitutional and completely de scheduled federally. Some of the best quotes from the 80+ page filing in federal court can be found below.
Despite the relatively recent stigmatization of cannabis in the United States as a supposed gateway drug used primarily by hippies and minorities, there is a long and rich history of people from virtually every part of the world using cannabis for medical, industrial, spiritual, and recreational purposes, the suit reads. Indeed, those who have cultivated, encouraged the cultivation of, and/or used cannabis include, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, James Madison, James Monroe, Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama an assortment of the most intelligent and accomplished statesmen in American history.
Joses treatment providers at the Veterans Administration informed Jose that they are unable to prescribe medical cannabis because it is illegal under the CSA, reads the suit, referring to Belen, the military veteran.
We are seeking a declaration to that effect, and also a permanent injunction restraining enforcement of the CSA as written, as it pertains to cannabis, said Lauren Rudick, one of the plaintiffs attorneys. The classification of cannabis as a Schedule I drug deprives individuals of basic constitutional rights, including Due Process and the fundamental right to travel. Some of these individuals, such as Alexis Bortell and Jagger Cotte (both plaintiffs in the action) are patients who seek cannabis as a means of life-saving medication. The government has a federal patent on cannabis, and has recognized the medical efficacy of cannabis in a variety of ways, yet Sessions is trying to reverse policy on cannabis use and contend that it has no medical use. Its hypocritical.
One thing is for sure, Jeff Sessions and the federal government will not go down without a fight.
Our neighbors to the north in Canada only had their rights recognized after challenging medical marijuana as a right through the courts. It appears this is how the Jeff Sessions legacy is about to be written. Instead of doing the right thing, his Justice Department will be forced to recognize the rights through the court system.
They must be pretty good, since medical mj won in FL by a 71%-29% margin.
It got more votes than any politician in the Sunshine State.
FRiend, there has been much advancement and much to learn in this field. Look up "CBD". It had has been a lifesaver for countless good people.
Cannabis is far different from most medicinal plants because it potentially has hundreds of other active ingredients. Far from only THC. These are called "cannabinoids" and our own body already produces them (endo-cannabinoids).
Marinol doesn't work for many patients because it lacks these other cannabinoids which we have now realized must work together with THC. Countless patient testimonies and studies show pure THC is not nearly as effective. There is a “whole cannabis” Rx inhaler branded “Sativex” which is considered far better.
Each strain of cannabis has a different cannabinoid profile and medical users select those breeds which work best for them. It is even possible to breed cannabis specifically tailored to your own illness. Advanced caretakers/growers now do that.
There is nothing carcinogenic when whole cannabis is consumed smokelessly. As most medical users do these days. It can be eaten whole, eaten as a medical grade standardized extract or turned into medical grade vapor with a tabletop machine
Most patients prefer an inhaleable delivery system because it is instant and dose can be controlled in real time.
Taking cannabis via pill is very difficult to dose correctly and it can take hours for relief depending on your diet and metabolism. Simply because it is one of the very few fat soluble drugs that clings to food.
After over a decade of propaganda. They are also very chummy with the Obama’s.
The same electorate went for Trump over Crooked Hillary.
The same electorate went for Trump over Crooked Hillary.
One has nothing to do with the other.
We have surpassed that point. A strong federal government should never have been allowed. MOST OF THESE ALPHABET AGENCIES ARE UNCONSTITUTIONAL. 10th Amendment The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. And controlling us is not in that codification per the 10th Amendment.
The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government-lest it come to dominate our lives and interest. Patrick Henry
I’d like to see it in pill form, not a fan of smoking or cooking with it. But would be willing to try it in a NO SIDE effect riddled pill form. I live in INTRACTABLE PAIN 24/7/365. And there are NO CURES for the 2 auto immunes and the surgery damage and FDA APPROVED PILL DAMAGE to my GI track, degenerative spine their FDA APPROVED drugs caused.
Sessions is too busy in the weeds to see the swamp.
I smoked acres of the stuff in college and it was that Mexican ditch weed that you had to pick the stems and seeds out of.
I've refrained from smoking weed over the past nearly twenty years primarily because I am employed in an occupation that tells me I can't and randomly drug tests me to ensure I am complying with their conditions of continued employment. But once I retire, I can't wait to try the stuff they're selling these days! At least just once, out of principle.
Oh, and I've raised a family and am doing just fine. I've voted straight (R) since 1994. I will continue to support full legalization of recreational marijuana at every opportunity. Few things taste sweeter these days than the salty tears of losing drug warriors after all the destruction they have wrought on the Constitution.
>>its because the globalists and other forces beholden to the shadow gov do not like at all AG Sessions strict adherence to the US Constitution. The successes hes having cleaning up the gov and trying to take back the US for us little folk are exactly what we voted for.

Sessions strict adherence to the Constitution? LOL. His Asset Forfeiture position is in direct opposition to the Constitution.
I am fully supportive of his efforts re: immigration. But not at the expense of his blatant disregard for the Constitution in other areas as it suits him.
We can surely find many patriots who would be honored to fill the AG position who would follow the Constitution consistently, not selectively.
Weed makes people stupid and lazy.
Results in less competition for jobs for hard working folks who can pass a drug test, which is good.
Not so great for national GDP.
I won’t vacation in any State that legalizes weed, too dangerous with all those stoners driving around.
I agree with you, very accurate synopsis of what should pot should be used for, medical only.
And get such a person confirmed how? And alienate the small number of "Republican" US Senators who are not swampthings? AG Sessions seems to have gotten somewhere draining his swamp. Without him, there's nobody to stop swampthings from destroying the Trump presidency.
The problem is when a state legalizes marijuana it is not really legal in that state. People are still subject to federal drug laws. The only way around that issue is to overturn or change federal law concerning marijuana.
Federal drug charges are far more serious, when you hear about people in prison with long sentences for marijuana it is nearly always due to federal laws.
I really don’t care personally either way, but if people want marijuana to be legal or even lesson the crimes related to it they will have to address the federal drug laws.
>>And get such a person confirmed how?
By waiting until after the midterm elections when we will hopefully see more Patriots in Congress.
By firing # 1, 2, and Mueller, and appointing an Acting Head who will do the job constitutionally.

If the replacement was a constitutional patriot, alienation may not be a problem.

Without God, Bannon, Gorka, & Miller, there’s nobody to stop swampthings from destroying the Trump presidency.

It really does come down to this.
Another reason to support AG Sessions is that Miller came to DJT from being on Session's staff. Another reason is that AG Sessions is Trump's mentor on stopping and reversing the invasion of the US. Without that, we don't have a nation.
Lots of ignorant posts in this thread yours wins first place, congratulations.
In tens years it will be as tobacco is today except it doesn’t kill people like tobacco. Soon after it will be treated much like lettuce, sold in bulk at grocery stores across the land. The drug war warriers will stamp their feet, pout and have to go find real jobs where they won’t be able to jackboot free people.
I have tried it as medicine and it worked great, and i didn’t get high in the process. Doctor says he will sign forms so i can get more, wow pain free soon and no fear of imprisonment. Maybe the day is coming where we can once say land of the free and not lie saying it!
