New Democrats are pushing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to publicly condemn Donald Trump's move to bar transgender individuals from serving in the U.S. military, a decision the party's defence critic says is based on "ignorance and hate."
"Prime Minister Trudeau must denounce this policy immediately in order to demonstrate that Canada not only respects human rights but that we will stand up against discrimination, even when the source is our closest neighbour and strongest ally," Randall Garrison said in a statement Wednesday.
Garrison, who also serves as the NDP critic for LGBTQ issues, said the Trump administration is using hate to target one group of citizens.
"We have seen this sort of state-sponsored discrimination too many times before. It is wrong and must be called out," he said.
Garrison said in the release that such a ban would only weaken military cohesion.
"Transgender people who are currently in the military and those who wish to serve are, in many ways, the bravest of the brave."
Garrison urged Trudeau to speak out against the "despicable directive" and explore how Canada can open its doors "to any Trans American who wishes to leave this discrimination behind them."(continued)

I’m seeing all the headlines of the radicals flipping out over this, and by simply WHO they are, I know that Trump is doing the right thing.
In the 60’s, I JOINED the Air Force, if it had been a special rights haven for gays and trannies, I would never, ever, have joined.
Yeah, do that Trudeau. Please, get right on that. Show Trump your’e concerned...
What’s sad is that Canada was a major military power and great assist in winning World War II.
Democrats calling on foreigners to condemn our president. Only RATs can be expected to do that.
Our military, our rules.
Canada does not have NEARLY as many commitments to defend their own territory and interests around the world that the United States is charged with.
US troops will be sent into combat LONG before any Canadian military shall be called upon. We must be WAY more prepared for the challenge.
And almost instantaneously, when the situation arises.

None of the 44 Presidents before Trump allowed trannies to openly serve in the military but that wasn’t out of hate, nosiree.

The Trannies should go serve in the Canadian military. Maybe the taxpayers there would pay for their chop & change surgeries and lengthy mental health followup. Our military doesn’t have the time or money with such a meager return on the investment.
