I’m a woman and I agree! We can’t have it both ways. All the FemmeNazis do is bellyache about equality.. Give it to them!
Defending freedom with indentured servants. Great.
A draft is anathema to liberty. What interest should this nation have in a Slave army? If this nation of over 300 million can't find enough people willing to fight for a cause, is it really a cause worth fighting for?
And have all those people who resent being in the military around to sabotage equipment that is already nearly worn out?
We had that back in the 70's. It didn't work out.
So the Civil War, World Wars, Korea and Vietnam were fought by slave armies?
It’s a law that applies to men only. I want to know if they will prosecute a man who does a “Bruce Genner”?
There were draft riots during the Civil War. Draft resistance grew during WWI. Men were more compliant during WWII, but Summer 45' had some serious grumbling from troops in Europe that were to be deployed to the Pacific. The bomb cured that.
Men were trying to find ways around the draft and being called up from the inactive reserve when they could during Korea.
And we all know about Vietnam.
The signature date is the day before the postmark date.
Maybe we ought to make a slave database in case the day comes we need that too?
Trick question, that’s actually the same exact thing that you propose just using an alternate, but quite accurate, term for conscription.
My father willingly joined the Marine Corps in 1943 rather than being drafted into the Army. He stayed in until 1965.
You might want to take that up with your representative and senators rather than me. I didn’t pass the law.
Yep. That and about seven other points of forgery detected.
Marines didn't (And Don't) have the problems with slackers and men who weren't shy about resenting being the military thanks to being volunteers.
Look up the definition of slave if you're still confused. Certainly there were volunteers in all those instances, but the governments resorted to impressment to flesh out their ranks.
Ayn Rand’s fantasy world doesn’t comport with reality. We can occupy defeated third world nations with an all volunteer force. That won’t be the case in a major ground war.
Not really Obama’s doing. Nobody’s been prosecuted in 30 years, so it way predates him. I can’t see any big need or demand to start now, maybe it’s time to just end it.
The past 65 years have proven that the American people simply won't put up with a major ground war in Asia.
One of the dodgers will run for president one day.
They’ve done no such thing. We’ve been successful in avoiding a tough enemy since 1973; that might not always be the case.
