Democrats cant seem to land a punch on Neil Gorsuch and its not even clear they want to.
President Donald Trumps Supreme Court nominee has breezed through more than 70 meetings with senators. Opponents whove scoured his record have found little to latch onto. And some Democrats are privately beginning to believe that Gorsuch barring a blunder at his Senate confirmation hearings next week will clinch the 60 votes he needs to be approved without a filibuster.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York has been taking the temperature of the Senate Democratic Caucus but hasnt begun whipping hard against Gorsuch, sources familiar with the matter said.
Indeed, despite anger from the Democratic base that senators have cowered from a fight against Trumps high court pick, the sole strategic decision the Democratic Caucus has made about Gorsuch ahead of his confirmation hearings is to make no decision at all.

The rats are keeping their powder dry until the next SCOTUS appointment.. they want to replace Kennedy or Ruth Buzzy with a communist.
This is troubling. There is a suspicion here that he is far less conservative than we were led to believe. Think Earl Warren, David Souter, Anthony Kennedy and John Roberts all chosen by Republican presidents.
The only drawback to his confirmation will be the sounds of millions of liberals placing their used Depends in the trash.
The only way to find out what is in him is by confirming him.
Ey Nanc?
There is really no reasonable objection to him. If the Democrats make too big of a deal, it’s trivial to point out that he was easily confirmed to his current position.
The BS
Were strategizing, Schumer insisted. Were just not telling you.
The Truth
You’ll have to wait until we vote against him to see what’s in the strategy . . .
Democrats cant seem to land a punch on Neil Gorsuch and its not even clear they want to.
There is no stopping him at this point but he might be a trojan horse. There are a few red flags and I remember Diane Feinstien praising him about a month ago. He’s no Scalia. His record is pretty good especially the Hobby Lobby and Sisters of Mercy cases. We’ll see.
Assuming Gorsuch will be a strong conservative, this nomination doesn’t really change the balance of the court. Replacing Scalia is just replacing one conservative with another. I expect a bigger battle if one of the liberals retires while Trump is president.
His pastor is a lesbian.
And yet Clown Schumer says he is not "mainstream" enough.
Perhaps they already have blackmail on him that they believe will allow them to control his votes.
I agree. The rats have four hard left wing ideologues on the court. We need more conservative ideologues beside just Thomas and Alito.
Gorsuch strikes me as another Anthony Kennedy. He is conservative only on fiscal issues and very liberal on social ones. Big problem.
Has a democrat nominee ever been subjected to the same or comparable level of scrutiny?
I don’t know the answer, but I’d venture to guess that none has.
“This is troubling. There is a suspicion here that he is far less conservative than we were led to believe. Think Earl Warren, David Souter, Anthony Kennedy and John Roberts all chosen by Republican presidents.”
That’s my worry, too. It is impossible to tell what Gorsuch will do until he gets there. If he turns out to be another mushy marshmallow, we will have missed a great opportunity to keep the conservative wing’s numbers intact. If he turns out to be like Scalia or Thomas, I’ll be jubilant.
Time will tell.
If true, there's no way a conservative Christian, especially male, would sit under that teaching for one second.

We’ve been duped.
Yes, I’d agree. There are plenty of strong, bible teaching churches on Colorado. Gorsuch chose otherwise. Telling.
There should be a 6-month probationary period to see how the “prospect” rules on cases. :-)
