The Glock was designed to function like a revolver.

If you pull the trigger, it will fire. I would recommend treating a revolver exactly like a Glock.

Re dont have a round chambered...

I carry a jframe nonsemiautomatic revolver ... 5 chambers, Im not carrying 4. It is DAO. I do not carry appendix because it would interfere with my colostomy bag. I carry in the pocket, in a Mika holster.

Don’t have a round chambered. Solves that.

That's called a club

Like you, I pocket-carry, with an Uncle Mike pouch (to protect from lint, fuzz, etc, and to obscure the outline). I carry condition zero (round chambered, fairly hard-pull double action first round — that is the only safety, the hard pull).

In my pocket (usually Levis), I hardly notice it. And I can scarcely justify keeping the chamber empty, as the act of racking the first round seems an awful waste when and if milliseconds might prove crucial.

Crossdraw for me. I just zip up a few inches of my vest and my coat. Makes for easy draw in the winter and when seated in a vehicle.

Rule number one for me these days after staying alive for many years: Religiously avoid any situation where I might need to pull a gun unless it is ABSOLUTELY necessary. That includes checking on criminal activity and don't do ANYTHING that would provoke any such conflict if at all possible. Make sure your decision-making skills are good in that area...or don't carry a gun at all. I have been assaulted TWICE with severe shoves at a two different types of jobs and was armed BOTH TIMES and didn't kill either person (interesting that more than likely if an officer is shoved like that, someone will be shot). In each case the individual shoved once and stopped the assault, so is alive today. Neither ever knew I was armed initially.

Very recently, came home right at 1 a.m. and passing by a rural house near where I live I saw a pickup truck with lights on (brake lights & headlights) backed up to a house that is normally only occupied on weekends. Lined up on the gate with my headlights, called the Sheriff's office right away and when the occupant of the truck drove down toward the gate, I backed my car up even further and was ready to angle it for cover, pull on the guy and get ready to go...when he (the property owner who had driven in from out of state and had scarcely arrived) waved at me. It deescalated dramatically from there and I made a good friend for life who was overjoyed that someone was watching the place like that. Sure beats killing the wrong person at the wrong time.

Rule number two: If in the event you feel the need to pull a gun, then in the most underhanded, sneaky, deceptive and prejudiced manner make sure you can bring it to bear and kill whoever caused you to pull it. You better be justified, otherwise you're going to prison.

Rule number three: Learn to pull & shoot from the hip within 3-10 feet without a Weaver stance or whatever someone tries to tell you...point & shoot and make sure you hit an 8x10 sheet of paper at that distance. If you read this far, you will learn that a bullet-proof vest without a ballistic plate will NOT stop a .22 magnum. Heaven help whoever gets shot with that round. LEOs have to shoot better than that, but the general public will almost never need to shoot any better than that.

If you pull the trigger, it will fire. I would recommend treating a revolver exactly like a Glock.

The difference is the pull weight.
Glocks are what , 4-5 lbs, 6 with the New York trigger?
Revolver, at very least 8 lbs if it has been slicked up, stock in the 10-11 + range.

Put an 11 lb trigger in a Glock and go for it.

I know that everybody has their own preferred way to carry but I really like the clip that the Kel_Tec people have for their small carry weapons.

I like this because on my left side the barrel of the gun points away from me and down slightly to my rear where if it went off it would not cause a problem other than scaring the crap out of me. This is the 9mm the 380 is even more concealable because the end of the clip is at the very back of the gun.

With this clip I simply pull my shirt tail up slightly to make a little blouse over the hilt and I'm ready. A finger through my pants on the tip of the gun will push it up into my right hand ready. It is double action only with a heavy pull so that there is no accidental firing.

“I’ve seen photos from two separate incidents in the last couple weeks where someone’s holster folded in & caught the trigger - with bloody results.”

I said a GOOD holster. Trash ones can get you killed. Too many professionals do it day in and day out, as I do when I carry, and its the most efficient draw. Holster quality DOES matter, in a big way

Agreed, which is why I use kydex holsters, no folding, easy in and out. And as mentioned up thread, a good gun belt.

I just don’t like having bullets pointed at the family jewels... side carry.

What's the difference between the jewels or the side leg if you're prone to holstered accidents with your firearm?

Agree. You just increased your reaction time by anywhere between .5 sec to 1 or 2 seconds depending on how you conceal and how practiced you are.

If you are prone to those types of accidents I would suggest something under the arm. :)

Dear migraine,
1. A snubby shoved against a body cannot go out of battery.
2. There are Israeli concealed carry (Browning BHP) with racking the slide as part of the drill. Youtube has them.
3. With the recent decision making lead ammunition kosher once more, I feel great using my full wadcutter store bought rounds.

LOL! Yes, it is. But practice should reduce the time needed to chamber the round. I would never use a “club” in cases other than crowded spaces and possible sit downs, those instances where accidental firing cannot be tolerated. I have only recently changed my mind on having a chambered round in concealed carry, unless it is absolutely impossible to experience an accidental discharge for the given gun. All other instances, use chambered on safe, and ready to rock ‘n roll!
