President Donald Trump pledged Tuesday to combat bigotry and unite what he called a "divided country" after wrapping up his first visit to the National Museum of African American History and Culture.
"Today and every day of my presidency I pledge to do everything I can to continue that promise of freedom for African-Americans and for every American," Trump said, calling his tour "a meaningful reminder of why we have to fight bigotry and hatred and intolerance."
"We're going to bring this country together. We have a divided country that's been divided for many, many years, but we're going to bring it together," he added.
Trump also took the opportunity to address the recent spate of anti-Semitic incidents, heeding calls from Jewish leaders and Democrats to speak out.
He called the recent threats against Jewish community centers "horrible and painful and a very sad reminder of the work that must still be one to root out hate and prejudice."
He was joined at the museum by daughter, Ivanka Trump, Housing and Urban Development nominee Ben Carson and his wife, Candy Carson, Sen. Tim Scott, R-South Carolina, and presidential aide and former "Apprentice" contestant Omarosa Manigault, among others....

I hope he doesn’t pander to the race hustlers. The “blacks” have been freed a long time ago, and it’s about time that they start to clean up their neighborhoods, marry the mothers of their children, go back to church, condemn anything that has to do with muslims, graduate from high school in much larger numbers, and severely cut down their crime level. They can do all of the above without having to get more goodies at the tax payers expense.
And start acting like Americans instead of being “blacks.”

Many blacks were here starting in the 1600’s with the last slave ships in the 1860’s .
Compared to other regions where they were sold into slavery, here turned out to be where the lucky ones came.
Trump is smart to shine his light on this
Black culture belongs here and is the root of much good in America, music, sports, comedy, entertainment, soldiering and other arts.
Democrats have almost destroyed their culture. Republicans freed them once. Americans need to work together to help free those in need again.

To me, the real story is, the article. A reasonably fair article presented by CNN? The article didn’t reference Hitler or try to convince us that Trumps actions were really a result of his diabolically racist desire to enslave blacks. Could this be another Trump victory in the making?

Democrats were responsible for the many horrors the blacks suffered in the early years of our republic.
I do NOT hold present day democrats responsible for slavery..that was a long time ago. But they do still keep them on a virtual plantation, plagued by dependency on meager welfare handouts intended to keep them voting democrat just to keep the food on their tables.
The republican party was founded on the principle of ending the evil of slavery. I wish that fact was taught in our schools!
The African americans here with us today are blessed to be americans.... africa is a hell-hole.
It is a terrible shame that the first African American president had to be a creature like Obama...why couldn’t it have been a man like Thomas Sowell or Dr Ben Carson...two of the most brilliant and moral men I have ever seen.
God bless our African American brothers and sisters! I’d hate to live in an America without them. I know if not for the evil of slavery they would not be here... it’s a strange thing to ponder.

Trump was very positive today and inspiring. He was genuinely moved by the museum. I think he hit the perfect tone in his remarks.
Democrats want to keep blacks down and on the handout plantation.
Trump genuinely wants to help all Americans have opportunities.
Why?
The Blacks need to take some responsibility for themselves. A majority of the population are wards of the State- -they depend on welfare payments and public housing. The sad truth is that President Johnson's "Great Society" destroyed the Black family and Black self reliance.
We unite the country NOT by moving closer to the other side.
The other side is tyranny. There is no compromise with tyranny.
We unite by inviting snowflakes to our Trump Train which is moving in the direction of Liberty. NO backtracking in order to unite.
Our gov’t needs to deal with the hard core commie/fascist leaders in the same manner as they did in Italy, back in the 1940’s.

African-Americans & Hispanics had no champions in Barack Hussein Obama, Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, the Congressional Black Caucus, the NAACP, the Obama media, the entire Democrat Party, during the entire eight years of the Obama/Democrat POTUS term. They were ignored...except for the quest of their votes when needed.
POTUS, Trump/Ben Carson...will correct that shortfall, big time, performing the actions necessary to unify our country together and attack the problems of Blacks and Hispanics with great gusto. And...they already have thousands of both blacks & Latinos supporting their efforts!!!
All Americans need to remember that Blacks & Hispanics have fought in every American war since the “Revolution” with great service and dedication. They also have been the backbone of manual labor for many projects across USA history, including the massive building in the Southwest, USA!!!
Both these groups have been held in economic slavery, cast into drug infected, unsafe ghettos, denied good education and opportunities by their Obamabot, Democrat Party, slave masters & holders...who care only about securing their votes!!!

That has nothing to do with what Trump said though. There’s no reason to have any consternation about Trump’s comments.
Trump has pledged to unite the country many times before as well but CNN probably didn’t notice that while they were so busy making chit up.
Ugliest building I have ever seen. And it squats on the Mall near the Washington Monument like a rusty junk pile.
Doesn’t President Trump realize that, after the Obama presidency, we’re a “post-racial nation”?! (Hopefully obvious sarcasm, but that one hurt!)
