Football season is over, but this buck is ready to tryout for next year season. The way this buck struts around the gridiron, he sure looks ready to go into Beast mode. I don't know how well he could carry the football, but I bet he would be the fastest one on the field!
This footage was recorded at a Manitou Springs High School football game and published by KOAA 5 in Colorado Springs.
Typically, bucks dont start doing stupid things like this until the rut. Most Colorado mule deer rut in November when they really behave like chickens missing their respective heads. See the footage here.
Around here, he would have been shot before he reached the Red Zone....................
Now, that's what I'd call an effective defense. :=)
Yes, it’s called “The Buck Stops Here Defense”..............
During the summer we play rec b'ball at municipal courts adjacent to a wooded section in a residential area. They apparently know that it is a no hunting zone, because you can get pretty close before they take off running.
I used to play softball at Liberty Park in Sterling Heights, MI. Beyond the outfield fences was a wooded drain and the night games would always be interrupted by skunks wandering in under the fences during the summer........
The only “no hunting zone” is a zone with no deer in it..................
Not that way where I live, an exurban neighborhood in west Knox Co., TN. The deer all know nobody’s going to shoot them here, even during hunting season, and we’re overrun, with them being as common as rabbits. Many long years ago my deceased mother and I took a trip to visit her sister in northern WI where there were supposed to be a lot of deer and went out looking for one in the early morning. The best we did was possibly hear one.
I hit a deer on I-70 in Kansas once, doing about 70mph.
It demolished the whole front end of my car.
The state trooper that came, put it in his patrol car trunk!...............
We used to have a monster 14-pointer that would sometimes stand and watch football games.
Until a ———— ran him down with a snowmobile!
We called the DNR but the snowplow came through before the Leo did so no catch ‘em.
But I let everyone know who it was.
