The People Voted for a Conservative Court; What Court Will Trump Give Them?
Conservative Review ^ | 11/28/16 | Steve Deace

Posted on 11/28/2016 7:43:53 PM PST by 198ml

As we react, and overreact, to every report regarding who might serve in the forthcoming Trump administration, let us make sure we keep our eye on the prize. For there is one decision to come soon after the inauguration that I believe could very well be the barometer for his presidency.

That decision will be who Trump nominates to succeed Antonin Scalia on the U.S. Supreme Court. This is the one decision the Trump presidency cannot get wrong — even slightly. This has to be a hundred percenter. A no doubter.

This is no time for a John “Obamacare” Roberts or an Anthony “Rainbow Jihad” Kennedy redux.

These people really need to go F off

Trump submitted a list of names whom were really good picks for the top bench, I assume, since we have not heard anything different from Trump, that he is going to go with this list.

People need to stop speculating over nothing

Republican nominees have been a crapshoot.

At best.

But Democrat nominees have been like Democrats: they run the wrong way and self on stumble.

What could save the Republic would be to cast FDR, his legacy of high handed lawlessness and everything built on it to the curb ... I don’t see any Justice actually honoring his oath of office though and they will continue to honor the government as an ongoing concern, living in and expanding the abuses and usurpations as the Court has been doing.

The best we can hope for is to slow lawlessness down.

If Deace had his way, he’d be contemplating Hillary’s pick to replace Scalia.

IMHO, one of the most important considerations in choosing a nominee is whether or not they have any vulnerabilities in their personal lives that would put them at risk of political pressure or even blackmail. It doesn’t matter what someones approach to the Constitution is, if they are vulnerable to political pressure.

Deace is sad here; pro-lifers are going to be nominated; is Deace one of these social cons who sees same-sex marriage as the deal breaker? I am against such marriage but we’ve got to accomplish the most with what we’ve got.

If it was up to Deace, Hillary would be making the choice.

“Because what is the original rule of all law in our form of government?

The Ten Commandments.”

OK I am all for the Ten Commandments but where did he see that in the constitution or any other court ruling. This is Originalism?

Read the article. He’s sad because Trump is not going to pick a justice that makes everyone keep the Sabbath day as a day of rest

Any Christian worth his/her salt knows that ‘sabbath’ means ‘rest’ and Christians are to ‘rest’ (sabbath) in Christ everyday not just one.
