So it's time to ban them from social media, even if there's nothing fake about them.
Since the outcome of the election was not what the left wanted, something must have gone wrong. This cannot happen. And whatever it might have been that caused insolent Americans to not vote as the left wished, this horrid thing must be found, must be isolated and must be killed.
Of course, another approach would be, say, next time nominate a better candidate, offer better ideas and do a better job of persuading people to vote for you? Nah! Ban something! Thats the lefts response to losing because every leftist knows that if things had been fair, right and just, they would have won.
She lost because they couldn’t cheat good enough.
Welcome to “Fairness Doctrine v2.0”.
Ok, someone please explain this whole issue of ‘fake news’.
How many official excuses does this make???
They are looking for the lie that the world will believe.
The truth is that the American people in flyover country were done with Obama’s crap and decided they did not want the Klinton crime family in the white house. Period.
Highly unlike all the fake b/s put out on Trump, yet, HE WON.
“And their new target this week is something called fake news sites. This, theyre convinced, accounts for Donald Trumps margin of victory. You see, people were sharing links on Facebook from purported news sites that actually report fake news, which may actually be false information or might just be a source of opinions the left doesnt think people should hear. At any rate, theyre pressuring Facebook and other social media to ban so-called fake news sites from their advertising networks, and having some success. The problem, of course, is that the definition of what constitutes a fake site vs. just a site liberals dont like is quite subjective. And if its left to the discretion of lefties, who do you suppose might end up on the list?
Take a look at this piece from the Daily Dot, which purports to authoritatively identify 130 fake sites. Among those listed are James OKeefes Project Veritas, which is not fake at all but uses hidden-camera video to expose wrongdoing by left-wingers. Also listed are Breitbart, Twitchy, Red State and The Blaze - all of which are basically conservative opinion sites that make no pretense of being anything other than that. What makes them fake and thus deserving of a ban?
“Ok, someone please explain this whole issue of fake news.”
Simple: “News” outlets like NBC/CBS/ABC/CNN/MSNBC think they, and they alone, are the news outlets and anything else is “fake” news. This is liberals trying to use the “fake” label to drive away the actual news sources out there. This is censorship; a typical liberal ploy. They demand google, Bing, Twitter, Facebook, et al., censor and prohibit content by anyone that is not NBC/CBS/ABC/CNN/MSNBC.
All THIS is what you tell LOSERS to console them!
The ‘media’ today is the greatest Propaganda Ministry since the Third Reich. MAGA!
Really? Talk about totalitarian rule...
I would just be happy if they could block any post that starts with “she puts the lotion in the basket. What happens next...genius!” Or similar words, maybe I am exaggerating.
I’ll take a stab at it.
1. Fake news is probably whatever the left interprets it to be, such as any news at all, true or false, that they do not like.
2. Now from a conservative view point, fake news would be any news element that does not tell the whole truth by failing to report news negative to the left, or simply by taking things out of context or outright lying.
I see the whole thing as being good, because someone like Trump can take it and use it against the left as per #2 above. And I think he already is.
Might even get some form of legislation out of it.
“Really? Talk about totalitarian rule... “
Yes, really. The news outlets found they were whistling into the wind as people ignored them and went to other information outlets.
Yes people on Facebook were sharing even the wildest stories about Hillary as fact as the libs always do to those they oppose. Funny part was if a lib complained the story wasn’t true the poster would say “I know” or “who cares”...pretty funny to see it dished back at them.
They can dish it out, but can’t take it!
Dan Rather’s “Fake but accurate” report that George W. Bush was a draft dodger and not fulfilled his Air National Guard obligations. In fact, a whole lot of “fake news” was reported about Dubya, much of which he never responded to, but was held to be gospel by the left.
“Fake news” has been around for as long as there have been political rivals for ANY office ever held in any level of government, but some people are just much more likely to have others believe it could be entirely plausible. Herself is one of those who is regarded as being very likely to have actually done some of the things of which she as been accused (odd circumstances of Vince Foster’s death, accepting bribes from foreign governments in exchange for favorable treatment in international relations, trying to run a back-door arms smuggling program between various parts of the Middle East). And most of this “fake news” does have a very real basis in fact, only some of the major details are misreported or omitted.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but wouldn’t labeling news sites as “fake” just make them more intriguing? Especially to millennials?
Was it the MSM or the "fake news" sites which told everyone before the election that Trump could not win? The way I see it the MSM and the left (which are the same thing) are mad because their self-fulfilling prophesy didn't come true and they have been exposed.
That is true! Anything they don’t totally control is considered fake. Even FOX is known as FAUX to them because it is not 100% liberal news.
That said there were a lot of “news” sites that were more like tabloids slinging made up or exaggerated stuff at both sides. That was fine with them when nearly all those sites were liberal. The liberals can’t take it when their own game is played against them though.
