Trump to live in White House
Politico ^ | 11/20/16 03:51 PM EST | Matthew Nussbaum

President-elect Donald Trump will live in the White House, he said Sunday, ending speculation about whether he might opt to stay in New York City and reside in Trump Tower or at one of his other properties.

His wife, Melania, and 10-year-old son, Barron, will likely join him after Barron finishes the school year this spring, Trump added.

“Yes, White House,” Trump told reporters when asked about where he will live, per a pool report.

Asked about plans for Melania and Barron to move to Washington, Trump added: “Very soon. After he’s finished with school."

A New York Post article said Melania and Barron would not be joining Trump at the White House in January, which Trump's comments seem to corroborate. Trump spokesman Jason Miller told reporters Sunday morning that "There's obviously a sensitivity" when it comes to moving Barron in the middle of the school year.

And this is the rest of the story....

http://freerepublic.com/focus/news/3496499/posts?page=1 Earlier today there was a story from unnamed sources that Melania and Barron would not be living at the Whitehouse. That was fake news...

Very practical and responsible.

The Oval Office isn’t available. It needs to be updated for security reasons. Obama apparently delayed those updates.

Maybe Michelle’s mother will be staying there for a few more months so the living quarters won’t be available for a while. Then it will be fumigated and available for occupancy next September.

It makes sense. It is hard enough at that age and the situation without having to switch schools mid year. Its not like they can’t fly in for the weekends on the Trump plane

There’s a Senator named “Whitehouse.” But there’s no building called “the Whitehouse.”

I hope Barron is home-schooled during the next eight years.

It doesn’t corroborate previous stories since the previous story was totally false. “Unnamed sources” may ass, made it up

I would tear it down and rebuild it after clinton and bambi scummed the place. fumigation doesn’t go deep enough. all soft goods. towels sheets etc. all suppliers of stuff to the WH cannot be trusted.

Fake stories are intentional; this is the press’s method of pressuring Trump into making a press pool and actually cooperating with it to cover events and get daily briefings. If you don't keep us under your toes, we'll just go out and make up whatever we want, and you can spend hours dealing with questions about made up reports.

It is, alas, a very effective action. What would be far more useful would be for Trump to create a pool of reporters which would get daily briefings and attend activities, preferably selecting media outlets not known for utterly lying every three seconds. I'd suggest starting with a ‘reporter’ from FreeRepublic and working out from there.

I’ll bet you’re right, it’s happening too often to just be chance. This will change once he gets a press secretary in place and is out of this transition period. Being the communicator he is, I fully expect him to over- rather than under-communicate with the media.

Presstitutes would be screaming about "President Trump heartlessly yanking his son out of school in the middle of the year." if all three moved to the White House immediately after inauguration.

I recommend Kristinn, leader of the D C Chapter during its most active years, especially speaking to people coming out of the Clinton era White House tours.

I had hoped that Melania would stay with Barron in NYC and let him finish the school year. NYC to DC is less than an hour flight. In addition to President-elect Trump’s property in NJ and others, there’s Camp David for weekends. I am sure they can make it work. Melania can make it easily to DC for occasions that require her presence.

Both of them have the USA’s interest foremost in their hearts and minds. He will do the people’s business and their family can live together in the WH after their young child finishes his school year. No big whoop. They have the right priorities.

Of course Trump can afford to do whatever he wants and these are his choices. However I changed schools many times in the middle of the year and survived it.

They will choose what is best. Donald has had to be away from home much of the time for a year and a half at this point, so a few more months will not make a difference. Barron’s dad will be working overtime, so it will be best for the family to have this time to transition.

So very happy and excited about this new President and First Family.

I am complaining about the use of the word “Whitehouse” to denote the Executive Mansion. Its name is the “White House.”

Responsible and appropriate. But I still think he’ll spend a fair amount of time in NYC. He loves it, he can get away from the DC idiocy for a bit, and it’s only a 90-minute helicopter ride.
