New Inhaled Insulin Drug Helps People With Diabetes PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — National Diabetes Month is observed every November so individuals, health care professionals, organizations, and communities across the country can bring attention to diabetes and its impact on millions of Americans.
More than 400 million adults were living with diabetes in 2015 and this number is expected to increase to around 642 million or one in ten adults by 2040.
One in two adults with diabetes is undiagnosed.
Daniele Hargendader makes sure to stay fit as a personal trainer. She often works out in Pennypack Park. Daniele also has Type 1 diabetes and depends on insulin to control her blood sugar. “The quickest it can start working is within 45 minutes to an hour,” explains Daniele.
That’s the time it takes with traditional injected insulin which can also be painful and inconvenient.
“It works within 15 minutes and I’m good to go,” says Daniele. “So really it’s a life-changer for me because of that.”
It’s called a mealtime insulin and is used to control blood sugar spikes linked to eating. Because it’s so easy and portable, it can also be used be for people like Daniele who need occasional doses on the run.
“It’s a tool in my tool belt that without it, I would still be suffering with high blood sugar for longer than you want to,” she says.
“It can go in a pocket or a pocketbook,” says South Jersey endocrinologist Dr. Joseph Fallon who says inhaled insulin is becoming increasingly popular. “This insulin is the fastest on the market and has a big impact,” says Dr. Fallon. “And what it can do is prevent and fix diabetic sugar.”
For the type 1 diabetic they are forced to give them sells multiple injections every day of their lives.

It's fast acting and leaves your body rapidly after your meal. The product is not widely known but users who have been hunted longer than 12 months rave about the fact that their blood glucose levels were the best that they have ever been. Additionally is reduced their AIC to almost nondiabetic levels.

GMO Cheerios vs. GMO Insulin
The recent decision of General Mills to produce GMO-free Cheerios is interesting from marketing, political, and biological angles. However, what I am interested in most is if GMO Inside and other anti-GMO groups will realize that the process of producing the GMO ingredients in Cheerios (corn starch and sugar) is identical in principle to the way insulin—and many other drugs, like your dog’s rabies shot—is made. If they adamantly insist on GMO-free food products, how can they not extend their request to all pharmaceutical products made with the same genetic engineering technology? If we must have GMO-free Cheerios, then we must have GMO-free insulin, right?

I’m borderline Type 2 due to Gastropresis very slow digestion and inability to eat fiber foods, haven’t hit the point the ENDO wants a med yet. Just morning blood sugar readings. I watch my weight like a hawk because diet is more glycemic than a normal persons diet is. It’s tough not to have sweets even in the form of fruit. But undigested food can form Bezoars in the gut and that means surgery to remove.
A1C1 and Ketone are normal so far. He treats my Hypothyroidism too.
Anyone know whether, or how often, it induces anti-insulin antibodies. With the different route of administration I suspect the incidence of that is different than via SQ and insulin resistance from auto-antibodies could be tough to control. Otherwise, granted good lungs, sounds good.
