I can not believe that statement. Where does it come form? Those that I talk to do not do a background except to buy a gun. It seems to me that most people find a gun they want and then get a background check. I never saw someone get a background check to see if they could get a gun. With more women buying guns I can not see them starting a gun purchase, get a background check and backing out after the check. Criminals and black market do not do background checks.

"The private firearm stock in the United States will have increased by nearly 100 million firearms, or 30%, during the two terms of the Barack Obama presidency.

FU hussein. Take that.

Reminds me, I'm looking for something in .308/7.62 NATO to add to my collection. Around the $1000 range. Atlantic has treated me well so I've narrowed it down to either the SA-58 Voyager:

Or the PTR-91 A3R

Already good to go in the AK and AR family groups.

What say ye all?

In most states, once a person has a carry permit, further NICS checks are not required to purchase a firearm.

I am out of state but have a Utah CCW. When I showed it to a dealer in Utah he still did a NICS check, saying that all the permit did was say it was OK for an out of stater to buy a long arm there.

Realize you're not the author, but it's only about 20 states, and some of those have caveats, mostly related to date of issue. Though California restricts it to Entertainment Firearms Permit only. Whatever that is.
