Hi there, Prepper. Ready for the Zombie Apocalypse?

So, “Molon Lave Me,” and, “Rock and Goad,” and all that, hooraw, yeehaw, and etc., but, if ever—-well…a better way, would be to find a better way

Hi there, Prepper.

Ready for the Zombie Apocalypse?

Got your off-the-grid, bugout bag and property and shelter all tricked out with the latest in alarms, freeze-dried food, barbed wire, and see-in-the-dark scopes?

Got the camo, ballistic vest with the water bladder, 300 rounds of 7.62 or 5.56 ammo inside 10 magazines? Is that the vest with the built in holster for the Glock 21 with 13 rounds in the grip, plus two extra loaded magazines? You gonna wear all that and carry the 25 lb pack loaded with survival gear and hard, sharp goodies, and the 8 or 10 lb rifle with the clip on flashlight, red dot scope, side-flip magnifier, built in bipod, and suppressor?

300 rifle rounds? (let’s see — double stack mags in the rifle, that’s 2 mags, [taped together the Travis McGee way] plus 8 in the super-duty chest rig?? where will the pistol mags go?)

25 pound pack? Good start.

Still, I’ll read the article ...

What an incredibly patronizing article. Sure, there are a lot of keyboard commandos out there, and more overweight, out of shape “patriots” than there really ought to be, but the whole “the government holds all the cards, so surrender now and beat the rush” meme is pretty tiresome.

Yes, the gov can pretty effectively bring all their resources to bear on some tiny subset of people, but events have shown that even then the gov can lose their grip in short order. It took a huge response to deal with the Tsarnaevs, and even then it was some homeowner who heard suspicious noises from the boat in his backyard. Dorner and the Beltway Sniper tied a couple of major cities in knots. Rudolph evaded the gov for years, and they weren’t even part of a larger movement aimed at resisting tyranny. If things came to a head, it wouldn’t be one, or ten or even fifty guys. It would be several hundred at a minimum, in cities across the country as well as out in the woods. The gov might get a few, but they could never get them all, and the lockdown they’d have to impose to try to restore order would not be popular.

I think all reporters should be drinking scotch while producing their stories. It makes everything a lot more fun to read!

Those last paragraphs can especially be a real hoot!

I am pretty sure Rudolph has intermittent help over the years.

I sure would have assisted him.

One guy paralyzed Dallas whole police department for hours during his sniper attack image a hundred guys all with former military experience decide to start snipering up a major urban area with no quarter given for anyone in sight. Only a company sized element of hardened soldiers or Marines will even come close to dealing with this kind of threat, now multiple that by every major city in the U.S. These pantwads who write these give up now mental masturbation exercises do so to project their inadequacies to others. If civil war comes here it will look like Kosovo or Afghanistan and those people have already shown the freedom fighters how to win against a technological superior force. You attack soft targets everywhere indiscriminately and go after the soft targets of the oppressors family units. IEDs, booby traps, chemical agents all are on the list when total unconventional war is called. A small buy determined force whobis willing to die for their cause and also hit any soft targets available can and will cripple a nation no matter how mighty they think their technologies. Ask the Soviets about Afghanistan they were willing to use ROE that the USA would never even think of and still lost Afghanistan. A civil conflict here would be genocide on the wholesale bank on it.

That's not the message here. And you know what? He's right. We should have fought back loooooooong ago. Now? Well, there WON'T BE any fighting back. Need proof? Look at the 30 some arrested by the Feds for involvement in Bundy Ranch/Malheur. All went quietly, guns confiscated, preps confiscated, etc. No fighting back. Quietly into the night. And now they sit and rot.

What a waste.

What ‘mr knowitall” has failed to take into account is many have a bugout location where much of the gear has already been transported to, possibly by FOUR WHEEL DRIVE........... Oh yeah, and it’s a lot more than 300 rnds I can assure you of that. :)

EVERYONE seems to forget the short phase before a REAL civil war: Settling scores.

Government isn’t omnipotent and its employees aren’t supermen.

On the topic of “banning assault weapons” I searched the following headings:

Repeal Second Amendment
Government seize guns
President seize guns by executive order
Banning firearms
Australian gun confiscation
National gun registry

I found almost universal consensus from both sides of the debate that confiscating America’s 300 million plus firearms is an impossible task (leftwing gungrabbers are frustrated and angry at this). Obama has tried and failed as have Dianne Feinstein, Andrew Cuomo, & others. Without registration there is no confiscation unless government goes rogue lawless and sends out the flying monkeys, at which point society descends into fullblown insurrection.

The ex post facto laws against semi-auto rifles in CA, MA, NY, CT, & NJ have been mostly disregarded even where FOID is required. A fatso state patrol superintendent wearing four stars & Smokey the Bear hat growled on camera “turn them in or I’m coming for you” but that was months ago.

Hillary wants an “Australian solution” for guns here but she won’t get it. Congress is not so stupid as to attempt a national gun registration law & who would obey it if they did?

P.S. BATFE Form 4473 is a snapshot, not a marriage certificate. No law against selling a firearm without reporting it.

Dang, that is one condescending sumbitch. He'd be the guy with no food storage at all because it would be "paranoid" who gets sort of hungry when the power goes out for more than 24 hours. Dumbass.

It's a mindset, not a bunker. If all you carry is a flashlight and a mini-tool, you're way ahead of the guy who doesn't if you ever need either. That isn't paranoia, it's common sense.

There is a certain comical aspect to people who attempt to equip bugout bags with enough gear for an expedition to Everest. They all learn the hard way the first time they try to hump it anywhere. But if they're trying, they're learning, and that puts them well ahead of the author.

*SNICKER*

I have more than that in my pickup behind the seat.

I'm moving over 30K of rounds this weekend alone to one secure location that is fully stocked.

Is the author is Pajama Boi?

TADSLOS :" This clown has been watching too many Doomsday Prepper episodes."

I have read the authors self-reported bio on Amazon; he proports to be James Bond and Jason Bourne all rolled into one, as well as being an sci-fi author.
Obviously, he must have been huffing glue when he wrote this article as he couldn't be any more wrong about true 'preppers', since prepping is an ongoing life-style not a prepping at the last minute of crisis, during a catastrophe with half-crazed, nuclear-tainted zombies.
The people he describes are the catatonic, 'normalcy bias' individuals who suddenly wake up to an immediate catastrophe staring them in the face, with abrupt knee-jerk reaction.
The author's article is just another of his sci-fi creations of a ruminating mind looking for another huff.

Agreed. The article not only misrepresents what prepping is all about, but the author is an abysmally poor writer.
