Looks like fun but I think most would be better served by spending their time learning how to shoot their AR lights out at 100 yards with iron sights.
“Who can afford to shoot 700 rounds per minute?”
I guess Alan Grayson was correct.

Look at it this way. You’re being surrounded in a 180 degree pattern from left to right. As you wave your rifle the 180 degrees one time to cover all your target will take 3 seconds to spray a total of only 36 rounds as you defend you and your company. That could be effective.
Can you afford two boxes of ammo?
I think there was a multi-part series on building these in Home Shop Machinist magazine, perhaps fifteen years ago. It's a *big* project, even for a very well-equipped home shop. I'm sure the CNC machine shop guys could move at a faster pace, though.
Barely.;-)
The IRS, postal service, fed school board, fda, dept of Agg...
totally illegal, but yeah.
It would be useful on a weapon with a 100 rd beta C drum mag and a bipod as a suppressive fire weapon/LMG. It would only be slightly less effective than a M249 SAW IMO. I would probably have a couple extra uppers on hand too and change them out in between drums.
“...Ruger 10/22 into a select fire weapon.”
That would be fun. Burn thru hard to get ammo though.
A belt fed upper would be the way to go.
I worry about reliability with those. If I were going that route, I would probably just buy one of the DSA belt feds and fit the device to that. that would be awesome.
I’m talkin about when the SHTF
Oh MY GoD! Now you’ve done it!
We had Lincoln, vampire slayer!
Now we can have Battle of the Zombie Big Horn!
Where Custer and his mighty band of diverse troopers
and trooperets, fight off the drooling hordes of
zombie indians riding zombie horses.
Shouldn’t be too much trouble for the troopers to
pick off those slow moving horses, but there are just
so many of them.
“Brains! Must have yellow hair Brains!”
Amen. Unfortunately there are those who get blogs hits from stuff like this.
Jerry’s a pro, so in private, he’d tell you this is an insanely stupid trigger actuator.
27 rounds on target from JERRY?
Stupid.
If youre surrounded like Custer by a thousand zombies, it wont be a waste. ;)
Don’t you think that at some point during the Little Big Horn battle Custer regretted not bringing the two Gatling guns he left at the fort because he thought they’d slow him down?
Me too. I always thought an electric drill properly afixed to a semi-auto M2 would be interesting too.
There’s a movie called Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. I saw Pride and Prejudice “forcibly” many yrs ago and this one’s a hoot. There’s another one called Dead Snow where nazi zombies kill off teenage cabin vacationers in the European alps. Dig zombies ;)
Many years ago when i was still an intern at Paramount, the other room across us supposedly had Oliver Stone pitching Custer to some execs and of course, the dickwad had to come up with a govt conspiracy angle so his pitch was Sherman hated Custer so much he was the brains that ordered the fort commander not to supply Custer and stay put.
