If you're craving to shoot a gatling gun, well you can now turn your AR-15 into one. Just by installing this conversion kit from Two Z Precision, this will allow you to fire 3 rounds per turn once installed.
Watch Jerry Miculek take the ordinary gat and turn it into a mini Gatling Gun! Complete with mini crank and all, able to fire almost 700 Rounds per minute on a standard semi-auto AR-15. After watching Jerry shoot, it obviously doesn't look like a practical way of shooting and handling the AR, obviously its more for shoot and laughs.
There are also some people talk of employing a motor to the gat and putting a button on it to activate the firing. Now before you all go and try this be sure to check with the ATF. Anyways, check out the action with Jerry shooting the mini-Gat here.
Fun, but a waste of ammo.
Who can afford to shoot 700 rounds per minute?
Put a battery operated motor on it to turn the crank...
Dude is SO GOING to jail!
Well, at least, now I know how to say his name.
(I want one of those goodies...)
Wouldn’t a Gatling gun be more defined by multiple rotating barrels, than by a hand crank?
That is illegal. If you could do that legally, Mini-guns would not be Class 3 firearms.
Add the motor, an az-el mount and some IR detectors and you’ve got your own home anti-personnel defense.
If you attach an electric motor, the switch becomes the “trigger” and thus the function would be seen as fully automatic by BATF.
Would have liked to see Jerry compete with this “BMF Activator” re-marketed with his super fast trigger finger. Money is on Jerrys ability to shoot fast and accurate versus that “jack in the box” crank trigger for fast and inaccurate.
On a drone with a paint ball gun .....:o)
Learn something every day.
What makes a Gatling gun a Gatling gun is multiple rotating barrels.
He said he “smoked his suppressor and ruined his barrel.” That doesn’t sound good.
Hand crank=semi-auto.
Motor operated=full auto chain gun.
I know of some “mods” to where I can turn the ubiquitous Ruger 10/22 into a “select fire” weapon.
Would I actually do that?
That would be illegal according to the BATFE.
Back when magazines were still popular, there were people advertising plans for scale model Gatlin guns, actual Gatlin guns, not toy models, based on the original patents.
Yes.
An AR (or any semi-auto) with a hand crank trigger does not make it a Gatling gun.
Guns are not TOYS!
The barrel would deform before that would happen.
If you’re surrounded like Custer by a thousand zombies, it wont be a waste. ;)
