Magpul Industries has long been known for manufacturing superior rifle (and now pistol) magazines, as well as improved stocks for ARs. The company is now expanding into more traditional rifle stocks and is taking them to new levels.
I was recently sent a Magpul Hunter stock for the Remington 700 series rifles to test. Now, admittedly, Im not much of a hunter. I choose to spend my shooting time a bit more tactically, but with that said, I really do like this stock.
The version I received was in basic black, but other available colors include flat dark earth, stealth gray and olive drab green. This stock features reinforced polymer construction, and includes such unique features as a spacer adjustable length of pull with a range of adjustment from 13 to 15 inches in half-inch increments. That is a wonderful addition to any stock, in my opinion. I think of myself as an average-sized guy (5-foot-9, 170 pounds), but Ive yet to find a stock that fits me out of the box. The ability to simply add or remove spacers to get the gun to fit me the way I like it is an excellent improvement over a "standard" stock. See the rest of the review and video here. How many of you all have tried out this 700 Hunter?
Great I hope they make a one for the long action 700 next. I need one for a .300 win mag and don’t want to spend the coin for a McMillan.
Had to get the additional cheek riser kit as neither of the two included pieces did the trick for me. The kit had exactly what I needed.
LOP was right on with stock parts.
Closed groups noticeably, whether from a more comfortable shooting position or from a better fit stock-to-action, I don't know.
And this is the most economical way to add bottom metal to an internal magazine rifle like the 700 SPS AAC-SD that I've found. Love those Magpul 10-round .308 magazines!
Ahhhhh, love my glassed bedded McMillan and would not trade it for the world. It is one tough stock that has taken some abuse over the years and still allows for sub moa groups
Would like to find a top end (not a knock off) for my Match M1A that I could put on.
Don’t have a 700 but I installed the Magpul stock on my 870 and it’s excellent.
Rem 700 stock bookmark
I like the drop in the pistol grip. I have a Remington model 720 and have always wondered why rifle manufacturers didn’t stick with a more vertical grip.
Very nice! But I was expecting something with a telesoping stock, pistol grips and rails. :)
(And if I could get one like that for me Enfield...)
I’d by an Enfield version as well.
I’ve been hunting with a Remington 700BDL since the seventies.
Nice walnut stock, decent factory checkering.
It is a well designed, nice looking, straight
shooting 30.06.
If I had to “dress it up” with that plastic atrocity,
I’d be too embarrassed to be seen by other hunters;
and Bambi’s folks would laff me out of the woods.
What’s wrong with designers these days??
The one I have has a huge palm swell. It is not comfortable for me at all.
That channel features a young Texas veterinarian ("Dr. Matt") and some of his fellow vets in who pull animals off the euthanasia list in local shelters. These are pets who are not presently adoptable because they are ill in some way. With the monies brought in from subscribers, mailed-in contributions, charitable contributions from Smile.Amazon.com, and the sale of the Magpul t-shirts, the vets are able to perform surgery and other life-saving practices on the homeless pets to make them adoptable and save their lives. I love watching every episode of Vet Ranch and am really happy to see a doomed pet lose their pain and suffering and go on to become somebody's beloved pet.
Did not know that. Very nice!
