Urban Outfitters putting out a controversial T-Shirt comes as no surprise to anyone. With a track record that includes selling a mock blood stained Kent State sweatshirt and a shirt that resembled the uniforms worn by gay prisoners at Nazi concentration camps, the brand are often called up for questionable design. Their latest foray into the political sphere is as lucrative and risky.

Ordinarily you tend not to see multi-million dollar worldwide brands weighing in on political debate but the American presidential race has proved to be a tempting source of revenue for this clothing brand, who are currently selling a range of products which mock Republican nominee Donald Trump.

The main design is the slogan "IDK NOT TRUMP THO." Exclusive to Urban Outfitters, the phrase which is shorthand for "I don't know. Not Trump, though" — is available to buy on a T-shirt, mug or sticker in store and on their website. These items are also joined by an anti-Trump pin reading 'Trump 20NEVER'.

The design was not created by Urban Outfitters, but was thought up by US Comedian Dave Ross originally who had the slogan printed and placed outside his house...

Anyone in the market for a tee that shows Urban Outfitters in flaming ruins?

Urban Outfitters. They should sell t-shirts with fake blood stains and pre-made bullet holes that say “Don’t shoot. Already dead!”

Who is “Urban Outfitters?” for that matter. Urban? I don’t want “urban” outfitted. I want “urban” contained! I want “urban” transportation-limited. I don’t want “urban” outfitted to the point “urban” decides to foray beyond its milieu and go find other “outfitting” or whatever. Hell no

:0)

Only if it’s emblazoned with a picture of an actual Urban Outfitters store on fire.

I have standards.

Remember when all these companies slammed people for trying to make political messages against Obama and how that was divisive language bordering on hate speech?

Hypocrites.

F’em all - this is war.

I guess that’s appropriate. Obama’s Teleprompter tells him what tells his dumb ass what to say.

Who is Dave Ross?

After a search, I still don't know.

Wish I was a regular customer of UO so I could boycott them. Can't say I've ever set foot in their store and I'll make sure never to do so.

Oddly enough they’ve been impugned from social activists as well. Crying about the CEO supporting ‘anti-gay’ politicians and such. Mixed bag.

That’s a big bonus for living away from cities where there are no Urban Outfitters or Targets or JC Penneys. All we have is one Starbucks in the whole county and I’ve never spent a dime there.

To the best of my knowledge there is not a single Starbucks in the entire county I live in.

No. Their target market is white hipsters. Lots of weird kitchy stuff, usually a good record selection too.

I seem to recall the founder of UO is a republican and GOP supporter, which surprised many as the store is seen as pretty hipster. I don’t have a problem with any store making money off of hipsters lol
