The only member of the household on Downing Street to be spared the indignity of one of the fastest political transitions in recent memory will be Larry the Cat, a tabby who holds the title of chief mouser to the cabinet office.
The sudden victory of Theresa May, Britains home secretary, in the Conservative Partys leadership contest on Monday put Prime Minister David Cameron in the unenviable position of having to vacate his residence in about 48 hours. A large blue moving van pulled up on Downing Street on Tuesday to retrieve the Cameron familys belongings.

I have a stupid question. If the UK voted for Brexit, how does a swarmy sort as May come to power? Isn’t the Conservative party hierarchy expecting pushback from the grassroots?
So...Larry the Cat gets to stay. That is good, as David Cameron dislikes cats.

Would that it would be so quick getting Obama's a$$ out of the White House after November 8th. As it is he doesn't have to leave until January 20th. He's gonna be issuing a crapload of terrorist pardons, crazy Executive Orders, poison pills, edicts and other destructive stuff in those 2+ months.

The next thing you know, there will be a full page spread on how she lost her car in a parking lot.
Cats are apolitical and have only been known to vote when their owner is a democrat.
No doubt there will be a general electoral backlash for the decision, especially if they are perceived to be dragging their feet on the Brexit process, but they could be in power for another four years and people have short memories and more immediate priorities. The leave campaign is popular but very diffuse. The only official political support is from UKIP, and UKIP is the youngest major political party and has by far the least experience and organisational support (and money). In short, there are Remain supporters who are hoping to spin this all out, covering their own shortcomings by blaming every disaster on Brexit, and hoping that people will have generally forgotten about it all by the next General Election.
