This is such nonsense, We have a country in peril and we kill the pain with fantasy.
That was the best episode of anything I have ever seen in my entire life!
Brilliant!
Well that could be, but I know what I would do with my dragons.
The Battle of Winterfell was a gore fest, someone on the production staff must really like that stuff.
I didn't think they were going to have the Knights of the Vale ride in at the last second, al la Stannis in the Battle of Castle Black, but they did :P
At least Ramsay Got his, Little Prick.
A little off topic, but the Lannisters have completely screwed themselves, totally, and next episode I think we will see that bare fruit.
Everyone will stop pretending and call-out Tommen for what he is, a Bastard, born of Incest like is Brother before him, and Chaos will reign.
Just as Dany comes from the East and The White Walkers from the North....
No no no... that was awesome. Definitely not blarg or bleh. It was a great episode. I especially the battle at Meereen.
How does anyone keep track of a show with 100 characters and 10 subplots? Too complicated.
Mostly good, I think.
As Danaerys unleashed Drogon against the fleet, I was thinking, “She really should use all 3 dragons”. And then the wall of the city fell out and the other 2 dragons appeared. Nicely done.
At Meereen, there seemed to be small band of Sons of the Harpy outside the gates, slaughtering a small band of people. I have no idea what that was all about. And then the Dothraki horde shows up and slaughters the Sons of the Harpy. Nice, but that whole bit seemed confused to me.
I have to say I’m not really a Jon Snow fan. He doesn’t listen to his sister, he lets his emotions get away with him. I don’t see him as a real leader, but of course everyone who meets him does. Just doesn’t ring true.
The Knights of the Vale seemed almost anti-climactic. When Sansa wrote a letter for raven delivery a few episodes ago, it seemed quite obvious whose aid she was requesting.
Also, I fail to see how anyone in the world would have ever shown loyalty to Ramsay. Rickon Stark is in Winterfell, and the North (very famous for remembering, you know) doesn’t offer support for him (or Sansa or Jon) but instead puts all their chips on crazy Ramsay with no family at all. Stupid and unrealistic.
Well the show too a detour from the book on Ramsay, so we don’t know how this was handled in the book.
I’m wondering what is the significance of that little Baratheon symbol being found by Davos.
And what did the red lady do to Jon?
I guess Ramsay should have fed his dogs earlier...
Stannis Baratheon tried to take Winterfell from Ramsay Bolton. Occupanying his army were his queen and his daughter. The red woman convinced Stannis to sacrifice his daughter (burn her alive) in order to win the coming battle. Little pincess Shireen dies screaming, the queen hanged herself the next morning, and Stannis lost the battle anyway.
The toy that Davos found belonged to Shireen. The burned wood by his feet was the remnants of the burning.
Not sure what deeper meaning the show was trying to make.
Slightly different topic:
The Red Lady is a priestess of the Lord of Light. In a few cases, such people have been able to bring people back from the dead. Jon was dead. She brought him back to life. He was asking her not to do that again.
“A little off topic, but the Lannisters have completely screwed themselves, totally, and next episode I think we will see that bare fruit.”
What we might see in the next episode is Cersei setting off tons of wildfire bombs underneath the Sept of Baelor! They keep telegraphing that idea. They did it again tonight.
Ramseyfacechow. . . from Purina.
Means Davos now knows the red lady burned the kid, and he will exact revenge.
and BTW: that was the greatest GOT of all time episode.
Very satisfying ending.
I do watch G.O.T. but I haven’t seen tonight’s episode.
There was a flaw, I think, in the story line regarding one of the characters adventure north of the wall. I can’t put my finger on it right now, but it occurred in a much earlier episode.
A Dance With Dragons is the last available book currently.
At this point in the TV show, the story lines have moved far away from story lines in the books.
I have given up on the books after reading all 5 of them twice.
I don’t think martin will ever finish them. I think he lost his connection to the characters and story.
Running out after Rickon after his sister said he’d get killed was a mistake, and he’s lucky more of his people didn’t run after him and lose even more
