Blessed Good Friday & Easter weekend Everyone;
With this being one of the holiest weekends of the year, it got me thinking. We have been discussing a total grid down situation/s where basically everything would have gone to heck in a hand basket.
We know that we're not going to live forever. So after the world has totally fallen apart, what are going to do with those who has "passed on before us". There are a lot of different ideas & methods available to us. Everything from building very elaborate concrete & rock tombs, to being cremated, to just leaving you where you fell at. But I do submit to you this minor thought. How we treat our dead, is where we are as a society. There will be some folks who have access to lots of wood & are very good carpenters, may want to build coffins. But what if wood is a very scarce commodity? You may not want to use this for those who have gone before us. What then. Right now there are hundreds of pages of laws, rules & regulations that deal with very issue. But after the grid goes down that all these are not going to be worth the paper that they are printed on. So here is my plan/s for what & how to deal with this issue. [And yes there is some religious aspect to this too] After the spirit/soul has left the body & ascended to where ever they are going to go. I will wrap the body in a sheet, & we will say prayers over them. After that I would have dug a grave out in my orchard/s & lay the remains down there, and cover them up with the left over dirt. I will then place a marker over their grave so that the folks of the future may know who this person was & when they lived. The tree/s would then consume the body, helping bring life to that tree & it's fruits for others to use & give life to[ashes to ashes, dust to dust]. In this manner I honor that person & they will continue serving the community/family/ies harvesting the fruit from those trees. Since my trees are not near my water supply [ie pond & well] I do not have to worry about water contamination. This will not work for everyone, but it works for us for right now.
And as always thank you for reading & responding to this with your thoughts & ideas.

There are fibers that can be used like cloth in this application/s. I’ll have to consult some of my books for this. Durn the head injuries & I have forgotten so much as a result, so I have a lot of reference books, just for this reasons.
And for those who are NOT worthy of a decent Christian burial [ie those who have committed serious crimes] will suffer that fate.
SunFresh Markets is closing a number of its grocery store locations by the end of the month.
While they tried to be a cheap Whole Foods Market, I found that the Save On brand generics Albertsons used to sell are there - and now on sale.
While I wouldn’t trust their frozen foods, canned vegetables are canned vegetables and 50% off is a great deal for canned veggies and fruit.
Thank you for the info.
Wrap me in canvas then bury me and plant an apple tree in the top of the hole.
I have a family member who is a mortician.
The costs of burial are ridiculous.
A sheet, a nice spot, words from Scripture, a few flowers, and a grave maker are all one needs.
I wouldn’t mind becoming crab food. I tell my kids to toss me in the yard and the county will eventually haul me off when I start to stink.
If the Lord doesn’t rapture me first then I am going to have my ashes spread over a beautiful fjord here in Norway.
