Lawmakers in at least four states are pushing bills to force gun owners to register with, and buy liability insurance from, casualty insurers.
So far, politicians have proposed imposing these mandates through state laws in Hawaii, New Hampshire and New York, and through city ordinance in Los Angeles.
The bills are similar to legislation proposed last year in Congress by Rep. Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y., whose "Firearm Risk Protection Act" would require gun owners to provide proof of liability insurance before purchasing a firearm and subject gun owners who fail to maintain insurance to fines up to $10,000, Insurance Business America reports.
The New Hampshire bill, introduced by Democrat state Rep. Katherine Rogers, requires not only firearm purchasers but also sellers and owners of firearms to maintain liability insurance. Violators would face fines of up to $10,000.

The Insurance Companies have very good Lobbyist. Insurance smells another dime they can suck up.

Legislation by Democrat. If such law is passed it will be by Democrats as was ACA. Law by Democrats, NOT bi partisan laws should be illegal, but that would take bi partisan legislation, so I don’t see that one coming.

As insurance will not cover acts committed in the commission of a felony, liability insurance would only pay off if the firearm owner had an accidental discharge.
How many 3rd parties are injured by accidental discharges every year? Very, very, few.
This is an example of why the left is in virtual control of our entire society; (1) they never give up;(2) they have entered into positions of authority in all major institutions, churches, business, academia, medias, politics; (3) they are highly organized and when they move on an issue they move as a choreographed ballet; (4)They have mastered the science of propaganda and do not hesitate to lie, conceal and misdirect;(5) they are merciless; (6) they can think politically rather than economically.
I don’t recall my Homeowners liability coverage listing an exception for guns. Unless it does, it would imply that they regard such risk as comparable to someone tripping on my carpet and getting hurt.
It’ll go national after Obama appoints a new crook to the Supreme Court. Gun control is all about why they offed Scalia, that and the EPA regs.
