Donald Trump is now officially the Code Pink Republican. Or maybe he's the Daily Kos or Huffington Post Republican. How about the Debbie Wasserman Schultz Republican? I think that fits. Heck, we all saw it and we all heard it. Trump went full left loon on George W. Bush and 9/11, sounding like the most impassioned truther from the left. Did Maxine Waters do his debate prep?
Trump snarked childishly that Bush did not keep us safe on 9/11. Apparently Mr. Trump is not intellectually very curious about history. If he were, he would know that 9/11 was dreamed up, contemplated, financed, planned, and practiced on Bill Clinton's watch. This planning and practicing continued during the days of the hanging chads in Florida.
This is not to defend George W. Bush and his neocon nation-building fantasies and his capitulation to unions regarding the TSA and so on. I've been critical of Bush and Karl Rove since 2001 on these and many other issues.
But the truth matters.
And the truth is that the single biggest failure by the American intelligence community was foisted onto the CIA and the FBI by Clinton appointee Jamie Gorelick with her infamous "wall of separation" between the two agencies. They had their hands tied behind their backs -- thanks to a Clinton appointee.

Americans are tired of sending their sons and daughters to some middle eastern $hithole to die and come home wounded and maimed only to have ISIS, the Taliban or whatever new version of Islamic nutcases take the place of the former governments. Then our government turns around and tells us to be tolerant and respectful of Muslims, while our vets who fought in these 3rd world $hitholes can’t get the care that they need. You people don’t get it. It really is as simple as Trump vowing to stop illegal immigration, halthing Muslim immigration, fixing the economy and taking care of the vets. And yes, I am a vet. I was the biggest cheerleader of the 2003 invasion of Iraq, but my eyes have been opened. If Jeb wants to parade his brother on the campaign trail and defend the crap he spawned, it’s a loser for Jeb.

We have been alerted to what you and libbylu and others have said about your fellow FReepers over there.
I’m 65 years old, voted republican my entire life, never once having voted for a democrat. With that said, I have always been for putting Americans in harm’s way when it’s absolutely necessary and then getting the hell out. Iraq had nothing in the world to do with 9/11 and that is absolute fact. Bush wanted to look tough after 9/11 and didn’t have either the balls or sense to attack Saudi Arabia, the country that was responsible for the attacks, he took the easy target to make him look like a “war president”. Will never forget him telling some reporter “I go to work with war on my mind”. Over 5,000 Americans sent to an early grave and trillions of US dollars wasted because Bush wanted to look tough. “He tried to kill my daddy”. When no WMDs were found, the turkey shoot became a “war to free the oppressed peoples of Iraq”. In addition to getting the US bogged down in an unnecessary war the republican liberal never vetoed the first spending bill until his last few months in office. Not one baby was saved from the abortionists knife when this goofball “war president” was in office. He appointed more openly homosexuals to his administration than all other presidents combined. All this “diversity” hogwash in Federal agencies was started under Bush. Co-pays in VAs were $3 when he took office and $8 when he left. The VA for a couple years quit seeing veterans who were not “service connected”. I could go on and on about this closet democrat George W. Bush and I’ll end by saying because of his incompetence the country now has Barack Obama to finish off the job this idiot started.

There is a strong anti-war vote up for grabs in the general election. Republicans lost twice to a Kenyan Muslim because of that. TWICE!!
Trump is not saying anything wrong. Bush said himself that there were no WMD found in Iraq. I think he was lying at that point, but is Trump supposed to come in and dispute what Bush said?
I don’t know what steps Bush could have taken before 9/11. It might not have been obvious the wall of separation was such a problem. But Trump is right that Jeb can’t run on his brother kept us safe when 9/11 happened on his watch, and he bogged us down in wars for years. I think after 9/11 Bush was right to take out Afghanistan and Iraq. But to nation build democracies in those countries without culture change first was stupid. To not demand reparations for our own was also stupid.
And as far as Planned Parenthood, Trump’s response is perfect. He has promised to defund Planned Parenthood as long as they do abortions but to fund all the other services they do to promote women’s health once they stop abortions. It doesn’t matter that we don’t think PP does hardly anything else but abortion. What matters is that some women have bought the left’s lie that they do other things. So Trump’s response effectively neuters the beast. Trump is able to claim he will protect women’s health at the same time he is promising to defund abortion. Again think, about how this plays in the general election.
You’re candidate can’t even unite the Republican party. It took issuing voter violations and lies for him to even win Iowa. Trump is uniting America.

You nailed it. Bush, Clinton, Democrat leadership, European leadership, Russian leadership, and more, ALL thought Saddam Hussein was producing WMDs. Only the stupid believe that Bush was the one who lied.
