In bold, stark lettering, an article by the LA Times featured the following ground-breaking headline splashed across its Wednesday edition: “After Texas Stopped Funding Planned Parenthood, Low-Income Women Had More Babies.â€
The article is based on a recent study conducted by the Population Research Center at the University of Texas at Austin and published in the New England Journal of Medicine, which seeks to link a recent 1.9 percent increase in Texas births paid for by Medicaid to the fact that the state cut off funding to the nation's largest abortion provider last year.
In other words, more babies are surviving the murder factories that exterminate defenseless unborn children on a daily basis. And we’re supposed to see this as a bad thing.
But perhaps even more despicable than suggesting America should mourn the fact that more babies are actually being born alive is the way that the LA Times, and apparently the Population Research Center, doled out the blame for this apparent tragedy.

Because we all know birth control just isn’t that expensive and there is no way they are Catholic, at least not practicing ones, though I guess they could be pelosi catholics.

You are correct, and I am using your quote to raise an issue that has been on my mind for a while. People who fight the good fight for the unborn are, in my book, saints; they are on the side of the angels. However, I confess that I do not have the stamina to fight this particular fight anymore. I know that: a three-day-old embryo is as much a human being as I am; a woman who miscarries an eight week old fetus has lost a human child; a pregnancy aborted as four months is a murder. Yet...I don't care anymore. If these babies are not aborted, most of them will grow up to vote against us and to call us racists. 30% of abortions in this country are performed on black women! Yet, if you go to the Right to Life March in DC — I have — you'll see very few blacks. Black babies will grow up to not only vote pro-choice, but to brand most of us Right-to-Lifers “racists”. So, I give up. I know I am wrong, but I give up. I have maybe two decades left on this earth (if I am lucky), and I am not going to waste any days fighting a losing battle to save the life of those who will brand me a racist in the unlikely event that I help save their lives. There must be others who feel the way I do. Is anybody out there? Is anybody listening?

Think of the damage they do meanwhile, though, those little Trayvons. A lot of them take some of us with them before they go. I’m conservative on many points, but when some woman in poverty gets knocked up by a baby daddy out between jail stints and says to herself “this won’t end well” and goes an gets an abortion, she is experiencing a rare moment of wisdom and I want her to be able to do that.

Perhaps, instead, we should be teaching Christianity or some other good, outside moral system to these people, so they will get married, have kids in wedlock, and prosper, rather than letting them go to the clinics placed in poor, black neighborhoods as Margaret Sanger would have wanted.
Black people embracing Christianity, what a novel idea. If only we had black churches. Oh wait, we do, and they are openly, vocally, stubbornly, utterly Democrat. Got any other ideas?
