because in the big scheme of things, it really doesn’t matter. If cruz couldn’t win iowa then he had major major problems.

May be Cruz should skip the next Fox News debate and ask Palin for the endorsement.

I agree. Every time I turn up the sound, it is about Rubio. Megyn just quoted him like he was Atticus Finch and she was about to cry. Didn’t everyone know he would be third? He did do better than I thought he would, but Cruz won.

I had a strange thought about the left, Democrats know that Hillary & Bernie have no chance with all the baggage of the past 8 years of Obama against the outsider candidates. So they are going to vote for the least harmful Republican to keep the political elite status quo in power. Rubio is that candidate. Perspiration Candidate is woefully unprepared and rates with Ryan, McConnell, Boehner et all. Democrats also know that Conservatives won’t hold their nose this time and vote for Rubio. So there would be a chance for Hillary or Bernie.

Political elite class is strategizing their power play.

We started hearing about the rise of Rubio after the last debate... I thought that it was all hype. But I think the establishment has found their candidate... Mr. Amnesty. The lines are being drawn. It is a three way race from here.

Not really! Fox News showed 32 minutes of Ted Cruz’s excellent & inspiring victory speech, and only cut away at the very end to show some of Bernie Sanders speech & Hillary speech. BTW in Hillary speech, did anyone notice Bubba Bill Clinton’s facial expressions behind Hillary? Bubba looks like he is coming down with dementia, and perhaps advanced dementia, as his jaw sagged forward & droopy face. Or it could be STD’s finally catching up with him.

Megyn must’ve mentioned how great Rubio’s speech was about a dozen times. She almost choked up about it.

..third flippin place and they treated it like he won a
landslide. From the first debate I picked up on the fact that Rubio was the GOPe’s Plan B—because Jeb could not survive...

Rubio did do a lot better than expected. It was a Lazarus-like performance involving a surge from the low teens to the low 20’s. I have to hand it to him - he’s a cannier campaigner than everyone thought he was. While he did benefit from some withdrawals - Kasich, Christie and Bush also had a shot at those votes, yet fell on their faces.

Tim Scott (SC Senator) is endorsing Rubio.

Cruz needs to rent a house in South Carolina.

Yes, and from the Rubio speech, I thought he thought had won, even though I was looking at the totals!

After all, FOX wanted him to win and since he didn't, covered his entire self-aggrandizing speech!

After watching and listening to him drone on about himself, I finally muted it. Thankfully, Trump was brief and polite by congratulating the Cruz camp for its victory.

My husband said Trump still has plenty of time to begin insulting Ted tomorrow by lunch time!

I am a confirmed Cruz supporter so it would be natural for me to jump on the bandwagon and criticize Fox as the Trump supporters criticized Fox when Megan Kelly actually committed journalism in the first debate but Fox is behaving according to the norm and there is no grounds to believe that they are conspiratorially favoring one candidate over the other in the way they handled tonight's election coverage.

The networks think of themselves as covering news not advancing America's political science culture. Their idea of news is the unexpected, man bites dog. So when a candidate fails or exceeds expectations by definition that is news.

From an earlier reply tonight:

Rubio is legitimately a big story because he beat expectations. Trump is a huge loser because he lost on expectations. Cruz is also a winner, not as large in the media's mind as Rubio, because he beat expectations. I have opposed Rubio from the beginning because of his stance on immigration, but I think we have to be fair to Fox. They are behaving as the media always behaves and one cannot ascribe their reaction to Rubio beating expectations as out of the norm.

By the way, compare Rubio's speech to Trump's halfhearted effort now on the Fox screen. Rubio is obviously light-years ahead of Trump in histrionic ability. Trump had really better watch out in New Hampshire, Rubio is a big threat to him now and I expect the Trump supporters to divert some of their venom away from Ted Cruz toward Marco Rubio.

You need to do your homework. Cruz had 32 min of uninterrupted victory speech time, more than any other candidate, Repub or Dem

I agree, but CNN buried it by going to Hillary.

Does anyone really want to argue about who the outsider is?

Hannity said a few minutes ago that Rubio can now win NH. I am fell out of my chair. Latest poll out of NH showing him trailing Trump by 30 points. So Fox reporting is..

1. Trump can be beat and Iowa proves it.

2. Cruz’s ground came won it.

3. Rubio is the real winner and he can carry this “win” over to NH and SC and win. In addition to losing by 30 points to Trump one week away from the primary, he’s also losing in SC by 20 points to Trump in SC. Neither NH or SC are crazy, confusing caucus states. You go the polling place and you vote then you go home. Trump wins them both going away, inspite of the SC establishment endorsing Rubio. So far no endorsement has meant squat in the state.
