Ted Cruz has associated himself with a man who says the Catholic Church supports pedophilia; and Christians should execute homosexuals. If Cruz becomes the Republican nominee this would destroy any chance he might have of defeating Hillary Clinton. If this doesn’t stir his supporters to think twice, it ought to.
On Friday, November 6, 2015 Cruz attended a campaign rally in Des Moines, Iowa, hosted by a Colorado pastor who frequently calls for putting gay people to death. The Pastor, Kevin Swanson, is well known for calling for Christians to execute homosexuals just the same as the Islamists do and Hitler’s Nazi Germany did. Pastor Swanson has accused the Catholic Church of wanting to “legitimize†child molestation saying, “The Catholic Church will never be able to legitimize pederasty.â€
This is Rev. Jeremiah Wright type hate.
When asked how he could attend a rally coordinated by Pastor Swanson, Cruz told ABC News: “Listen, I don’t know what this gentleman has said or hasn’t said. I know that when it comes to religious liberty, this is a passion of mine and has been for decades and that I have been fighting for religious liberty for everyone.†Thinking this would be the end of this matter is delusional.
Cruz knew exactly who Pastor Swanson is and what he is all about, but denied any knowledge of the man’s past statements. For a man who is as careful with his words as Cruz, this is very hard to believe. For a Republican presidential candidate this would be a major problem.

But what little I see, while I would indeed question it, is that this is hardly the same as Rev. Wright. Apparently, according to this, attending a single rally hosted by such a pastor is the same as sitting in the pews listening to him for 20 years?

I, for one, want to KNOW who “Coach” supports for President in 2016.
Aside from the basic premise being wrong, “coach” must not be Catholic.
I went to Catholic grade school in the 1960’s. In what passed for sex education for the boys it was explained to us becoming a priest us would protect from the sin of homosexuality because a priest must be celibate.
To prove that no good deed goes unpunished I believe the practice backfired by putting homosexuals in the unsupervised company of teenage boys. Logically some of those homosexuals must be in positions of power in the church. Who knows what their views are on the subject.

Big difference here: Mr. Obama attended and became a member of Wright’s church for 20 years. Cruz’s “association” with Swanson consists of one campaign rally.

Besides, attending one event while you are on the campaign trail is absolutely nothing like sitting in someone’s pew for decades. Coach is nuts.
It’s the best they’ve got, so take that as a good sign :)
